* NightmareFuel: Even for a franchise that has had some darker moments, this film is pretty light on it despite being a Halloween special. Nonetheless, there is one genuinely creepy moment when, after Lumpy flees in terror, we have a lingering scene with the mysterious shadowy figure in the mists approaching. For a setting where the only major sapient characters are the main cast, it's unnerving. [[spoiler:It's later revealed to have been Kanga.]]

* NightmareFuel: Even for a franchise that has had some darker moments, this film is pretty light on it despite being a Halloween special. Nonetheless, there are two instances:
** Roo and Lumpy’s song
is one lighthearted preschool fare, but as they approach the darker part of the woods to properly begin their quest, their nerves start to fail them, and with them, the music. They just barely finish the song as they begin to get scared, and soon they’re left staring uneasily at the entrance to the dark wood, nothing but a creepy wind being heard in the scene.

* JustHereForGodzilla:
** The film is mostly known for being the final major direct-to-video film featuring Ken Samson as Rabbit and John Fiedler as Piglet, as well as being the last major direct-to-video ''Pooh'' film in general to date (not counting specials from ''WesternAnimation/MyFriendsTiggerAndPooh'').
** Some fans watch the film solely for the reuse of ''Boo To You Too'', which has not had a major home release since this film.

* {{Sequelitis}}: Not so much with ''Pooh's Heffalump Movie'' but moreso the previous Halloween special, ''Boo to You Too''. Most fans prefer ''Boo'' over this film due to being willing to take on darker elements and imagery and having better animation and character development.
* SoOkayItsAverage: It's generally regarded as pretty harmless not outright bad, but nothing near the heights other ''Pooh'' films had achieved.
* TheyWastedAPerfectlyGoodPlot: ''Pooh'' is no stranger to darker stories and the presence of ''Boo To You Too'' proves it, but ultimately this film is aimed at a much lower audience and as such doesn't have much to make it a memorable use of the premise of Halloween.
