* AwardSnub: Many were upset that the game did not receive a single nomination in ''The Game Awards'', mainly for the "Best RPG," "Best Art Direction," and "Best Score and Music" categories, with several game journalists citing the controversial nature of some nominations (''VideoGame/LiesOfP'' for being more of an adventure game, and ''VideoGame/FinalFantasyXVI'' having more in common with ''VideoGame/DevilMayCry'' than an RPG), contributing said snub being considered a mistake on the show's end. It didn't help that while it was included in the Players' Voice bracket, it didn't make it past the first round.

* EnsembleDarkhorse:
** [[DorkKnight Crick]] has become very popular with fans for both his nice, earnest personality and believable chemistry with Temenos, [[spoiler:making his [[KillTheCutie murder in Temenos' Chapter 3]] all the more sad for those who were hoping that he'd stick around.]]
** Ori has also developed a fanbase thanks to her design and exuberant personality. [[spoiler:Her being a member of the Moonshade Order only served to boost her popularity due to the depth it added to her character.]]
** Malaya has found popularity for her mystery and chemistry with Castti in her Chapter 1. [[spoiler:A fair number of people have credited Malaya's death and realization that she's been DeadAllAlong for the emotional impact of Castti's Chapter 3.]]
** Alrond is well-loved for his flippant personality and design. Even more important than those, however, is his Summon ability "Treasure Smell", which has a small chance every use to give a 100x multiplier to either EXP or JP. Thus, he's become an essential character for those who wish to level up their characters or unlock job skills quickly.

** For a variable definition of "pairing," all four of the Crossed Path pairs have received some attention, as they're the travelers with the most one-on-one interaction. Hikari and Agnea have a handful of straightfoward ShipTease moments in their story and in a few other places, making their dynamic fairly easy to interpret romantically. Throné and Temenos are sometimes shipped together but, as mentioned above, are more often read as PlatonicLifePartners due to Temenos's relationship with Crick and/or implied disinterest in women; Throné, for her part, claims to [[AnimalLover prefer the company of dogs]] in the tavern banter where all the female travelers talk about love. As also mentioned above, Osvald and Partitio have a decent amount of HoYay, and reading their dynamic romantically pairs well with other subtext found within Partitio's story. In particular, Partitio would be following Roque in [[spoiler:becoming involved with a widowed father]]. Castti and Ochette are arguably the least focused on because Castti is first and foremost a TeamMom and because Ochette [[{{Womanchild}} acts more like an excitable child than an adult]], but it's nonetheless a heartwarming dynamic that gives both characters a chance to shine in what turns out to be the most harrowing -- and [[TheCorruption disturbing]] -- of the Crossed Path stories.
