* WhatDoYouMeanItWasntMadeOnDrugs:
** Many, ''many'' game sites [[LampshadeHanging immediately inform you that]] [[NotMakingThisUpDisclaimer this is an actual game made by Nickelodeon]] at the start of their preview/review article.
** Website/GiantBomb's Quick Look video [[http://www.giantbomb.com/quick-look-nicktoons-mlb/17-5038/ has one of the guys stating he questioned his sanity when he saw it at E3 (at 00:37)]].
* WTHCastingAgency: One of the criticisms of the game. While the replacement actors are doing their best, not hearing David Kaufman, Zach Tyler Eisen, Billy West, and Dee Bradley Baker respectively voice Danny Phantom, Aang, either Ren or Stimpy, and Perch Perkins is rather jarring for those familiar with those characters.

* TheProblemWithLicensedGames:
** The DS and 3DS versions are downright abysmal. In fact, the 3DS version is just a port of the DS version with a few new additions. It should be noted that they weren't developed by the same developer as the console versions, however.

* UnintentionalPeriodPiece: The presence of characters from shows that were airing at the time of the game's release but have since ended like ''WesternAnimation/TUFFPuppy'', ''WesternAnimation/FanboyAndChumChum'', ''WesternAnimation/PlanetSheen'' (which is how Sheen is depicted in the game), and most notably ''VideoGame/MonkeyQuest'' (an [=MMORPG=] that Nick made around the time of this game's release that shut down soon afterwards) firmly dates this game to the early 2010s, as these series would be very unlikely to have major focus if the game were made more recently. This also applies to the [=MLB=] players present that have since either retired or left for other reasons.

* UncannyValley:
** The realistic-looking baseball players and the cartoony-looking Nicktoons don't really mesh together.
** Even some of the Nicktoon models can fall into this. Kitty Katswell's body is horribly disproportional ([[http://www.cheatmasters.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2011/06/MLBKinect_Worth_Kitty_Runningbases-150x150.jpg a huge head resting on a toothpick body]]), and Powdered Toast Man's [[http://media1.gameinformer.com/imagefeed/featured/2kgames/2kplay/nicktoonsmlb/NicktoonsMLB-610.jpg face]] [[AccidentalNightmareFuel is the stuff of nightmares.]]

** Even some of the Nicktoon models can fall into this. * PanderingToTheBase: Probably the reason we get characters from ''WesternAnimation/TheRenAndStimpyShow'', ''WesternAnimation/InvaderZim'', ''WesternAnimation/DannyPhantom'' and ''WesternAnimation/AvatarTheLastAirbender'', despite those shows no longer airing at the time outside of the Nicktoons Network (ironically ''Ren & Stimpy'' was dropped from Nicktoons the week before the game came out).

* PanderingToTheBase: Probably the reason we get characters from ''WesternAnimation/TheRenAndStimpyShow'', ''WesternAnimation/InvaderZim'', ''WesternAnimation/DannyPhantom'' and ''WesternAnimation/AvatarTheLastAirbender'', despite those shows no longer airing at the time outside of the Nicktoons Network.

* PanderingToTheBase: Probably the reason we get characters from WesternAnimation/TheRenAndStimpyShow, WesternAnimation/InvaderZim, WesternAnimation/DannyPhantom and WesternAnimation/AvatarTheLastAirbender, despite no longer airing outside of the Nicktoons Network.

* AnimationAgeGhetto: Many people assume the game is just for kids, just because it has Nickelodeon characters in it (which in itself is an assumption of the AnimationAgeGhetto).
