Misplaced, moving to the correct tab; Villain Protagonist is not a YMMV trope, Vanilla Protagonist is.

* VillainProtagonist: While one can debate the status of Nemesis's himself the first two stories (especially Killwatt) very much make Torquemada the lead character who we follow with Nemesis an unseen (but for his car) HeroAntagonist with little or no personality. Even later on Torquemada retains substantial screen time and many plots revolve as much around him as his enemies.

* InformedWrongness: Purity blames Nemesis in book 8 for the deaths of Chira and Thoth by proclaiming that his prolonging of the war caused that o happen. However, the problem with this is that Purity is blaming Nemesis for more than what he is actually responsible for because Nemesis never anticipated that Chira and Thoth would perish. Chira had died as a result of a betrayal from Magna, whose lust towards Nemesis caused her to sell Chira and Thoth out to Torquemada, resulting in Chira’s murder and Thoth’s descent into madness. Nemesis also believed that Chira and Thoth would be safe on his home planet and was misled to believe that Thoth was dead until 10 years later when he finds out about Magna’s deception. Torquemada also murdered Thoth to get back at Nemesis for causing the deaths of his kids even though Nemesis was cornered into making that decision when the Torquemada’s police force trapped him with laser bars.

* CompleteMonster: [[KnightTemplar Tomas de Torquemada]], "[[HumansAreTheRealMonsters the ultimate incarnation of human evil]]", is the Grand Master of the [[ANaziByAnyOtherName Nazi-like Termight/Terran Empire]], and Nemesis's ArchEnemy. Even as a teenager, he [[FantasticRacism wanted to kill aliens]] even before being enslaved for several years, a situation which only hardened his resolve. Having seized control by usurping his own brother and locking him in a madhouse with a disfigured face, Torquemada rules humanity and leads campaigns that kill billions upon billions of aliens. He also tortures and murders countless humans, including children, for reasons as small as them merely being in his way; even his supposedly-beloved wife is [[WrongfullyCommitted discarded]] in favor of his crusade. Torquemada provokes a war and sabotages peace between humanity and aliens so that he'll have an excuse to wipe them all out. Despite his rhetoric, Torquemada is a {{hypocrite}} who thinks nothing of using alien energies and life force to keep himself alive by murdering them, bodyjacking humans and aliens alike. When sent to the past, Torquemada's actions horrify even the original [[UsefulNotes/TomasDeTorquemada Torquemada]], one of his earlier incarnations, before Torquemada murders Nemesis's young son Thoth. Torquemada even uses an alien to kill people, including his own men, hoping to turn humanity against Nemesis. In the end, Torquemada attempts to activate his self-described "FinalSolution": a bomb to annihilate all aliens and any human who has ever come into contact with one.

* DarknessInducedAudienceApathy: With the exception of Purity Brown, there are hardly sympathetic characters worth rooting for, including Nemesis, who's a brutal demonic AntiHero fighting against Torquemada for all the wrong reasons. The series' heavy handed theme of HumansAreBastards, with most human characters being shown as sleazy and pathetic individuals when not committing atrocities, and Kevin O'Neill's grotesque artwork don't help much either.

If he doesn't have a clear single moment that marks a shift in how he's portrayed, not this. He's over the line but didn't cross it in the context of the work.

* {{Anvilicious}}: Much of the content of the comic is this. However, much of this could also go to the SomeAnvilsNeedToBeDropped territory.

* MoralEventHorizon:
** Torquemada is considered to be a master of crossing into the MEH zone. In fact, most of his actions and the crimes that he has committed are seen as MEH worthy moments. He has so many of them that the comic narration even lampshades it as when Torquemada was brought to trial in the final arc, it took the courtroom over a week just for them to read the charges against him.
*** Torquemada's actions against his own planet are vile in their own right. Running a thought crimes division and executing anyone who even has thoughts of contempt against Torquemada is one example as he did this on Purity Brown's father.
*** The issue where Torquemada hypocritically has an alien kill his own officers and soldiers just to produce deceitful propaganda against Nemesis for the public in Termight to listen to is also a vile moment for him
*** Probably the most vile and obvious action that shows that Torquemada has indeed crossed the moral event horizon was when he brutally murders Thoth, the son of Nemesis who is only a ten year old kid. The fact that Torquemada shows sadistic glee in this vile atrocity makes a lot of readers want to see Torquemada killed in the most brutal and satisfying fashion.
** Magna crosses through the moral event horizon when she orchestrates the murder of Nemesis' wife Chira by betraying her and Thoth to Torquemada and his terminators and the reason why Magna does this is just so she could get the chance to satiate her lust towards Nemesis.
