** The explanation for how Crow's soul ended up getting packaged with other souls and sold to a big bank is amusingly similar to what happened with sub-prime mortgages in the run-up to the financial crisis of 2008.

* HilariousInHindsight: Crow's quip about the movie being about a hip {{Satan}} who solves crimes becomes this in light of ''Series/{{Lucifer}},'' which is about a hip Satan who solves crimes. ''Creator/{{Netflix}}'' even saved both shows from cancellation.

** The bots demanding wassail from Mike at the start of the episode actually plays into the movie they're watching. In addition to growing walnuts, Luther also makes mulled apple cider, which he is shown drinking and offering to other characters to drink throughout the movie. Wassail is an antiquated name for that same beverage.
** The movie's opening credits play over shots of Jody driving in his car, and the crew (not knowing who he is yet) assume it's the Devil. After fairly standard terms like "onerous spinner of lies" Servo ends up calling him "Maverick-driving Clootie" which he claims is Scottish and that he looked it up. Clootie, or Cloots, is indeed a Scottish name for the devil, coming from the Scottish word "cloot" which means "cloven hoof."
