* AlternateCharacterInterpretation: Sassy Saddles' line about not wanting to be part of "another failed boutique" puts her in one: is she risk-adverse due to one too many failed business ventures in the past, or has her management style caused other boutiques to fail and Rarity is simply the first owner who took back the reins in time? Or both? Even some people who work on the show think she should have been fired for acting like a ControlFreak, usurping Rarity's fame and authority, and almost driving Rarity to give up on the new place. On the other hand, Sassy honestly did want to help (and did so; she successfully generated a lot of interest and business) -- just not using methods acceptable to the owner, which were never clearly spelled out -- and she apologized. Rarity herself represents the Element of Generosity so letting Sassy keep the job is totally in character for her.

* OneSceneWonder: Of all the new characters introduced in this episode, the fat pony at the end has gotten the most attention. A close second would be the "goth pony," whom some people are immediately comparing to [[WesternAnimation/TeenTitans Raven (with the "sunny" one being Starfire)]] or Maud.

* InformedWrongness: Sassy Saddles was to be wrong for effetely taking control of Rarity's business and disregarding her wants in it. But Sassy was succeeding in the job Rarity hired her for, boosting business to the point they had so many orders Rarity was unexpectedly overworked, because Rarity failed to realized how different such success would be from what she actually wanted or to communicate those wants to Sassy sooner.

Now Flame Bait and definition only

* IdiotPlot:
** Given that the entire purpose of a new store is to generate additional business, how exactly was Rarity planning to handle the extra workload without hiring additional workers?
** Given that Rarity has several values in business she wants to adhere to, why was this not discussed as part of the job interview with Sassy Saddles? Most organisations discuss values as part of interviews and job adverts, as well as going into further detail upon hiring. At the very least Sassy Saddles should have been told basic information on how the business worked.
** Sassy doesn't seem to realize that they could probably make just as much money selling fewer dresses at a higher markup (something that would have meshed well with Rarity's methods), because of their, ahem, rarity.

Found additional idiocy. Rest were redundant with others.

Idiot Plot requires more than one character being an idiot.

* IdiotPlot: Much of the conflict could have been resolved very quickly had Rarity shown basic competency, with her displaying very poor communication, instruction, oversight, business sense, and management. While there are different challenges in running a chain of stores with employees, nevertheless this is very jarring given that she has previously displayed considerable talent in running a business, to the point of being very successful (as evidenced by being able to open a new and presumably expensive store, as well as hiring an experienced manager).
** Given that the entire purpose of a new store is to generate additional business, how exactly was Rarity planning to handle the extra workload without hiring additional workers? While she may not have liked how it was achieved, one of Rarity's main complaints is essentially that her plan succeeded.
** As owner of the business, Rarity is responsible for instructing her employee. Sassy Saddles should have been provided adequate instructions, clear goals, and had the business plan signed off.
** While Sassy Saddles does overstep her boundaries, Rarity should instantly have spoken out about this as her boss, instead of letting the problem fester. As mentioned above, it's also Rarity's responsibility to instruct and manage her employees.
** How did Rarity not understand the scale she would be working with? Even if the goal is to sell individually made dresses instead of mass production, she would still needed to have hired several designers to work under her. Being the sole designer quickly means her time is the limiting factor, and means it would not take much work to overload her. She doesn't appear to have made any consideration of this.

Hindsight only applies/goes under the work made this not causing it. And cross-franchise examples require some connection as similar things happening in unrelated works is too common/incidental to count.

** Sassy being a ManipulativeBitch who's somehow driven a boutique to failure before may remind some folks of Kosuri from ''LightNovel/{{Shimoneta}}''.
** This episode introduced a character inspired by another character played by actress Creator/EmilyBlunt. 2 years later in the BigDamnMovie, a character voiced by Emily Blunt appeared.
