** Sean Miliken entered the show at one of the highest weights, 1003 pounds. He endured a leg injury in high school that left him bedridden, a strained relationship with his father, and comments by fans about how his mother was an enabler, until his mother died midfilming, with Dr. Now noting he started putting on weight out of his previous habit of binge eating to deal with emotional problems. He survived less than a year after leaving the show.

The Woobie entry skirts too close to troping people in real life and is also too general.

* BileFascination: Considering that all of the individuals featured are morbidly obese and many are bed bound, a lot of people tune in just because they can't believe people can get that big.

Needs to underperform as proof it alienated.

* AudienceAlienatingPremise: The show is too {{squick}}y for many people. It is about the (mostly medical) problems that morbidly obese people face, and shows them attempting to shed some of the weight. It also features real surgeries on said people.
