* CatharsisFactor: Seeing the Rolisican village be out for Nelson's blood at the climax is immensely satisfying to watch as he finally has to answer for his sins.

* SomeAnvilsNeedToBeDropped: Considering who created this film, it's easy to tell that greed can cause everlasting consequences. Nelson's greed caused so much destruction just for kidnapping the Shobijin just so he can be more rich than he already is. In fact, because of his actions, an entire country is on his ass when they spot him to the point where he undergoes a VillainousBreakdown and gets gunned down. All because of greed.

* NightmareFuel: Think about it: you're going to a theatre, seeing two doll-sized twins sing and dance a prayer to their goddess hoping she'll come to save them, you know it's just a fantasy... And then, Mothra does arrive and is out for blood.

* UglyCute: Mothra. Yes, she's a giant moth that can (and does) cause massive damage to a city, but her fluffy head, huge blue eyes and stumpy little legs, she's also quite cute and endearing.

All Complete Monster entries need to be approved by the clean-up thread.

* CompleteMonster: Nelson is this big time! The only things this man cares about are fame and fortune. He and his men gun down several villagers while kidnapping the Shobijin. He also mistreats the Shobijin by keeping them locked in a cage. When warned about Mothra coming to rescue the Shobijin, he laughs it off. When things get worse, he still refuses to return the Shoijin and is petty enough to flee Japan with the girls captive. Heck, he even tried to knock an old man off his cain before he himself is shot down.

* UnintentionallyUnsympathetic: Whether unintentional or not, Mothra was responsible for the death of thousands of people and destroyed many cities. It's clear that the ending is meant to come across as happy since the humans happily gave Mothra the Shobijin back and gave a heartfelt farewell to them. Instead, Mothra comes across as a KarmaHoudini for not answering for what has happened; as do the Shobijin.

** Shobijin can come across as this. While we do feel sorry for them being captives by Nelson and are clearly remorseful for whats happening, the truth is that they summoned Mothra knowing the danger she will bring.

* CompleteMonster: Clark Nelson is an immoral businessman from Rolisca whose only concern is Greed money. During the expedition to Infant Island, he tries to kidnap the twin fairies that were discovered, but was stopped by the majority of the members of the expedition. He agrees to let the twin fairies go only to return to Infant Island in secret, kidnap the twin fairies, and have his men gun down innocent, peaceful villagers who protected the fairies; at least six were killed. He has the fairies perform show after show as he enslaved them and kept them locked in a cage, even erecting a special glass around them to prevent them from communicating telepathically, and has his men kidnap a child who is trying to rescue the fairies. Nelson ignores the warnings of the protagonists that Mothra would attack if he keeps them locked up, and when Mothra actually does start rampaging, he doesn't see it as his fault, and flees from Japan rather than try to give the fairies back to Mothra, and when he arrives at Rolisca, mocks the twins when Mothra is seemingly killed. When Mothra is revealed to be alive, and is heading towards Rolisca, Nelson attempts to flee the country again, gunning down a policeman along the way, and tries to abandon his men when he believes he won't escape Mothra's wrath by car.

* TearJerker: The theme of atomic destruction and Jerry Ito's superb portrayal of cruel greed and callous disregard for the island tribe and their culture (let alone all the people inadvertently hurt or killed by Mothra in her search) make this one of the saddest kaiju films of all time, although it ends happily.
