** ''Monster Roadtrip'' has countless examples. After trying to join a cult, one of them states that too many people only apply to get in on the blood orgies without taking the spiritual significance into account. Another admits they just thought everyone liked to have sex with goats. To which he is corrected that only ''he'', "Brother Goat Fucker Ismael", enjoys it.

* LoveToHate: The Interdimensional Space Prince is constantly trying to "romance" monsters into marrying him, often targeting whoever the player is going for at the time. But the antics he invokes during his courting are so hilariously over the top that it's hard not to laugh at his failures.

* TheScrappy: Violet is widely reviled by players for her toxic, both literally and figuratively, relationship with Tate. Although it's PlayedForLaughs, both the characters and fanbase find her genuinely aggravating for bragging about controlling Tate with her spores and feeding off his nutrients while shaming any single monster who has the misfortune of crossing their path. Some players even want Tate to be a romanceable option just so they can free him from her it's that bad.

Authors Saving Throw is now trivia that requires Word Of God confirmation

** While no-one in the fandom was particularly mad about it, the devs themselves clearly felt bad that all the major female love interests in ''Monster Prom'' — Polly, Vera, Miranda, and eventually Zoe in the [=DLC=] — had a very similar body type, just at different heights. (There's even a moment in [[spoiler:Joy's secret route]] when the Coven {{Lampshade}} this, pointing out that Joy is the only girl in the school to depart significantly from the "slender but with ample boobs" look, while there's a lot more clear variation among the guys' physiques — comparing Scott's muscular appearance to Liam's far more slim frame as an example.) ''Monster Camp'' quietly makes a point of showing women with more diverse body types, with the three main female love interests this time around being Joy (a BigBeautifulWoman), Dahlia (an AmazonianBeauty), and Aaravi (more classically petite, but with [[PetitePride slightly smaller chest proportions]] than the main girls from the original game).
** A lot of fans noted how weird it was that the main cast are all in their twenties yet are still going to high school (the out-of-universe reason being so everyone was of legal age, while the InUniverse reason is the monster school system is based on the "human documentary" ''Series/SavedByTheBell'' as a joke on DawsonCasting). During one of Moss's conversations in ''Monster Roadtrip'', the PlayerCharacter will mention that the school is currently going under a rebranding and is now Spooky ''Academy'', with more of a college-based focus (except for prom, which still stays).

I feel like it's easy to read the wording here in a way that isn't really accurate - the game doesn't usually treat rudeness seriously, either, e.x. the Wolfpack are rude and always treated as a joke; while it'll take, say, Leonard's rude behavior seriously at times, that's mostly when it crosses a line from "everyday person-being-rude behavior" to "actively antagonistic and insulting", and he's still a joke most of the time. Re: death, meanwhile, true, but that fits better into Protagonist Centered Morality.

* JerksAreWorseThanVillains: The series (almost) exclusively treats heinous crimes like mass murder and imperialistic conquest as funny but acts of everyday rudeness as deathly serious. The only time death is taken seriously is when it happens to a romanceable character, which itself is a pretty funny display of MoralMyopia.

Your stats need to be at a bare minimum just to get a date to accept, and each love interest has other stats that need to be high enough. That's not even getting into the secret endings, which require for you to act correctly in a string of events that can be started at any time.
