* AuthorsSavingThrow: The ''Last Days'' tie-ins were filled with attempts at explaining away Hickman's handling of the team in his own works.
** The team being reduced to little more than extra muscle for Old Man Rodgers, even though most of them could've won the fight for him on their own? They were holding back because they didn't actually agree with him.
** She-Hulk helping to destroy the Triskellion in the opening issue of ''Secret Wars''? A scene shows her talking with Monica about how she hates the idea of having to kill ''anyone'', but since they're technically at war she has no real choice.
** Why Monica, the team's powerhouse, doesn't just zap every enemy the Ultimate Universe throws at them; she hesitated and the Maker captured her.

* SugarWiki/MomentOfAwesome:
** The Vol. 3 team kicking Shuma-Gorath's ass. With [[RealityEnsues reality]]. And a giant tiger-god.
** Luke Cage fighting Deathwalker Prime's influence. Especially since of the entire world, only Steve Rogers is coming anywhere near as close as Luke.
** Monica after learning of the Beyond Corporation's involvement with Jason Quantrell, and finally getting the chance to avenger herself after what the Beyond Corporation did to her, Elsa Bloodstone, and the others in ''ComicBook/{{Nextwave}}''.
--->'''Monica''': They... ''[[TranquilFury they said the Beyond Corporation never existed.]]''
** In the "Last Days" tie in issues for ''ComicBook/SecretWars2015'', Adam Brashear and Monica tell Black Panther and Reed Richards to shut the hell up when they try to justify how the Illuminati monumentally fucked over Earth-616 and the Multiverse as a whole by keeping the Incursions a secret and trying to fix it themselves (which included sacrificing whole universes) instead of asking for help from the rest of the super community. When Reed tries to say they have no idea what he's gone through and can only judge him by living through the same crisis he's endured, Monica point blank says ''they will''. She then shifts into her Nextwave uniform to make a point about her own trauma, telling Reed he doesn't own a monopoly on crises and that if Earth survives what's coming, the Illuminati will be forced to answer for what they've done.

* CrowningMomentOfHeartwarming:
** The end of ''Captain America and the Mighty Avengers'' is filled with these. But a highlight would be Luke and Jessica's final kiss.
** Kaluu and Wong sharing tea as the world ends, as a way of mending bridges, and Wong's remark that he'd been wanting to do so for years.
** ''We were all Avengers.''
* HilariousInHindsight:
** Falcon's complaining about everyone assuming he and ComicBook/CaptainAmerica are always together is even funnier after he became Cap during Remender's run, during ''ComicBook/{{Axis}}''.
** Spider-Man failing to hold on to Cap's shield during ''Axis'' is a lot funnier given [[spoiler:the ''Film/CaptainAmericaCivilWar'' trailer which introduced him to the MCU]].
* MemeticBadass: Luke Cage's father becomes one during the ''ComicBook/OriginalSin'' tie in, mostly because he [[{{Expy}} resembles]] ''Film/{{Shaft}}''.
* {{Narm}}: Issue #9 of the 2013 series ends with the utterly ridiculous phrase [[spoiler: "To be Bladetinued."]]
* TakeThatScrappy: One volume has Slotto getting punched by Jessica Jones, very hard in the face, with Luke doing it on the cover.
* {{Tearjerker}}:
** Ava being violently rejected by her family. As if her life wasn't hard enough.
*** Making it even worse is the last shot of Power Man before the end is him reuniting with his family... meanwhile Ava's just out fighting because she's really got nowhere else to go.
** The final issue of ''Captain America and the Mighty Avengers''.
