** Hi-Max's second round, for a much more terrible reason. He's got no exceptional attacks that warrant your concern, nor does he do anything really powerful. Sadly, this makes his battle excruciatingly DULL! Combined with a pattern that seems utterly random, and the time needed to exploit a good hit on him can take up to a minute each!
** He's also a target of poor design. In the game proper, He's weak to special weapons, but only so few of them reliably hit (Mijinion's the best option, the others are too...utility based). In ''X6'', it's possible to find a portal that leads to Hi-Max as a boss encounter, and if the player doesn't have the proper foresight that they'd reasonably think that they wouldn't fight Hi-Max so early, and it's quite possible to find Hi-Max first and not be able to hit him at all! What does this combine to make? GameOver!!

** The [[CompilationRerelease Mega Man X Collection]] was going to add an English dub and retranslate the script. However Capcom felt this would step on the toes of VideoGame/MegaManMaverickHunterX 6, and so they were removed from the collection near the end of development. To make things worse, the VideoGame/MegaManMaverickHunterX series was cancelled.
** One of Zero's attacks is a diving attack mapped to Up + Attack. While fighitng on a rope, you are very likely to jump up, try to attack the foe, and dive into a BottomlessPit. The Mega Man X Collection was going to fix this, as well. If you play the Collection version, you can see what they wanted to map it to (they didn't reset the text).

** Ensuizan messes with Zero's invincibility, usually by cancelling it early to prevent you from spinning too much. It turns out that they make you invincible when you start it, then end it when the spin ends. Find a way to interrupt Ensuizan, and you will never lose the invincibility for the rest of the stage.
** X's Magma Blade resets his gravity. He can glide against otherwise uncrossable BottomlessPits by spamming the blade while in midair.
