Wick update

* FandomRivalry: Oblivion Lost and Lost Alpha. Both are remakes of Shadow of Chernobyl, but their design philosophy differs. Both are based on the early builds of SoC, but Oblivion Lost is a strict recreation of the older versions of the game, essentially making it a demake. Lost Alpha on the other hand, introduced many controversial features based on the modder's interpretation of what the game would have been initially, such as a subplot involving TheIlluminati and voice acted cutscenes. As a result, fans clash over which version is the true interpretation of the original design documents.

* BrokenBase: The "belt" inventory, where magazines for your weapons have to be placed manually before you can reload them. Some think its a nice bit of extra realism, others see it as being needless micromanagement.

* VisualEffectsOfAwesome: The new and redesigned maps are visually fantastic.

Removing complaining - while YMMV is, well, YMMV, using it to complain is not, along with natter ("not to mention")

* Narm:
** The new voice actors are clearly not professionals nor native Russian speakers. Combined with the often silly writing, much of the dialogue and cutscenes comes off as hilarious.
** The game's take on the Shadow of Chernobyl storyline is often compared to FanFiction (and not the good kind). From the Illuminati having a role, the out of nowhere relationship between Strelok and Ghost, the , all go against the grim tone associated with the series so hard it's impossible to take it seriously.
* ObviousBeta: To an even greater extent than Shadow of Chernobyl. Even after multiple patches, the mod still suffers from issues like broken AI, crashes, and poor performance even on high-end machines.
* TheyChangedItNowItSucks:
** Fans who expected a faithful recreation of the original Shadow of Chernobyl storyline were very disappointed by the liberties taken with it here. Most saw the changes as unneeded at best, and at worst completely nonsensical. Not to mention how heavily the mod leans on long, unskippable cutscenes that suffer from poor animation and voice acting.
** The usage of invisible walls and other limitations to prevent exploration, combined with the lack of random stashes, kills much of the incentive to explore. This is especially notable since one of the team's first modifications for Shadow of Chernobyl was to remove the invisible walls and fences from the original maps so they could be fully explored.
** The complete lack of the "A-life" dynamic AI from the main games, along with the lack of NPC's in the new maps, has been criticized by many as it reduces much of the game to half-hour (real-time) jogs between quest markers.

Others are fine with it however, as it allows the visual redesigns of the maps to shine.
