"Idiot Plot" is now Flame Bait.

* IdiotPlot: Happens quite a few times.
** The lads incur Miami's wrath on two different occasions by stealing a van without bothering to check what's in the back. It's Miami's property in both cases -- a racehorse in "Lock, Stock and Four Stolen Hooves", and a consignment of [=AK47s=] in "Lock, Stock and Two Hundred Smoking Kalashnikovs".
** The whole plot of "Lock, Stock and Spaghetti Sauce" could have been avoided if someone had bothered to check that the videotapes the Dutchies sold to the lads were indeed blank and they would not have necessarily had to play them, as a VHS tape has a small plastic tab that can be removed to prevent the tape from being recorded over; a blank one would have the tab intact, while one with a movie on it probably would have had the tab removed to prevent it from being recorded over, although given that these movies are not being distributed by legal means, who knows?. As it happens, the Dutchies also had a consignment of unmarked porno videos in their van...

* UnintentionalPeriodPiece: The series is this thanks to the use of chunky mobile phones (which are only used to, err, phone people) and VHS tapes, plus the fact that most of the characters smoke indoors (which was banned in the UK seven years later). That said, the use of (mostly) old cars (perhaps to invoke LondonGangster films like Film/TheLongGoodFriday and Film/MonaLisa), plus Miami's Seventies dress sense, makes it seem like a period piece even for 2000.

** Also, "Lock, Stock and a Fistful of Jack and Jills" featured a pre-Series/CoronationStreet Bradley Walsh as a LondonGangster who has dealings with the lads, and Omid Djalili as one of the Gadaffi brothers.

** In "Lock, Stock and Four Stolen Hooves", a (presumably sexual) NoodleIncident involving Moon and Tanya, which was only resolved when she(eventually) dropped the charges, appears to be played for laughs.
