* SpecialEffectFailure: As already mentioned above, the eponymous Link is supposed to be a chimpanzee, but is played by an orangutan, whose fur is shaved shorter and dyed black and is given prosthetic ears to make him look more like a chimp. Unfortunately, anyone with an inkling of intelligence can easily tell the two species apart, based on their faces alone.

* QuestionableCasting: For some bizarre reason, the filmmakers decided to get an orangutan to play as link, despite the fact the character is supposed to be a chimpanzee, even though orangutans and chimps look virtually nothing alike, even if you dye the formers' fur black. The fact that they already had actual chimps in the movie only makes this casting decision all the more baffling and ridiculous.
* NightmareRetardant: The idea of a chimpanzee (or rather, [[SpecialEffectFailure an orangutan poorly disguised as one with black dyed fur]]), dressed in a butler outfit and going around killing people, [[{{Narm}} is more likely to garner laughs from the audience]], rather than scares.
