* WhatDoYouMeanItsForKids[=/=]WhatDoYouMeanItsNotForKids: A weird subversion. It ''wasn't'' meant for kids because the creator wasn't told that it ''had'' to be, hence the mild swearing and references to pin-up posters, testicles, rape, whorehouses, condoms, crack addicts, death, parental abandonment, huffing glue, autocannibalism, and pretty much everything else to completely bypass the network's typical brand of risqué-but-inoffensive humor to just be straight-up for adults. And unlike ''WesternAnimation/RegularShow'', the more risqué aspects of the show were so deeply embedded in the cartoon that to tone them down would defeat the purpose, which is why it was immediately rejected upon completion.

* WhatDoYouMeanItsForKids: While most, if not all, of Cartoon Network original programs have risqué jokes in them, the difference between this short and Cartoon Network's other shows is that this short was more blatant in its adult jokes (mostly due to Craig Kellman not realizing that he had to make a kids' show). Because of this, it was banned from airing and treated as an OldShame by the channel.
* TheWoobie: Joey, with all that torture his mom puts him through.
** It may become TheChewToy for some.
