* TheScrappy: Ruby gets this to a lesser extent. Being the mascot and the protagonist does give her her share of haters, due to overexposure. Of course, some do find her genuinely annoying as a character.

* AmericansHateTingle: This franchise might be popular in its home country, but America absolutely won't touch it because of the stigma attached to [[GirlShowGhetto shows for little girls]], and even in the fansubbing scene, very few people care about it. ** Popular in Hong Kong, though less so than in its home country. The USA, for the most part, barely even know this exists.
** Its pretty popular in the Middle East. The arabic Opening has over 4 million views on the Specatoon Youtube Channel.
* GirlShowGhetto: A possible reason for its unpopularity, though being squarely a kids' franchise in a medium that has its audience mainly in teens and young adults can't help its case either.

** Jewelpets should not be in ''WebAnimation/DeathBattle''.[[labelnote:*]]A big Jewelpet fan repeatedly suggested that the Jewelpets should participate in Death Battle. Knowing that they are as likely to be underestimated as they are powerful, he sincerely suggested the likes of Trixie Lulamoon vs Luea, Diana vs Tempest Shadow, Dian vs Discord, and Ruby and Rinko vs [[Franchise/{{Pokemon}} Ash and Pikachu]] (the first three of which are JP vs ''WesternAnimation/MyLittlePonyFriendshipIsMagic'' match-ups). In ''Twinkle'', they think she is somehow a bitch for warning Fealina not to go to the human world or that Akari is being forced to clean up her mess. In ''Kira Deco'', they take issue with the fact that she dumped [[spoiler:the Dark General]] and therefore created the main conflict in the show.

* AwesomeMusic: All openings and endings are extremely catchy and memorable.

* CanonSue: Ruby. She's clumsy and irresponsible, but is also TheChosenOne, super-powerful and always knows the right thing to say or do. Also gets very little comeuppance for the crap she pulls. (Remember her abuse of Opal in ''Sunshine''? People chastised her, but she never actually apologized, and later even made a speech to Opal which made her seem like she was in the right.)

* MemeticMutation: ''[[Anime/OnegaiMyMelody Onegai My Ruby]]'' for the first series, due to the similarities between it and ''Onegai My Melody''.
** Genshiro Hattori, [[Manga/FistOfTheNorthStar the 65th successor of the Hokuto Shinken]].[[labelnote:*]]Hattori himself is loosely based on the main character of ''Manga/FistOfTheNorthStar'', Kenshiro. This one is totally not unintentional as some of his moves and mannerisms were borrowed from that character.[[/labelnote]]
** ''Code Dian: Andy of the Rebellion''.[[labelnote:*]]In episode 36 of the first series, Dian transformed into a human guy named Andy Samael, who actually looked like [[Anime/CodeGeass Lelouch]]. Fittingly, he is voiced by Creator/JunFukuyama which fits his role as a MagnificentBastard.[[/labelnote]]
** Keigo Tatewaki, the lost member of [[Anime/MobileSuitGundam00 Celestial Being]].[[labelnote:*]]Fans had no idea who Tatewaki's voice actor was when the series first aired. Then the ending credits revealed that Creator/MamoruMiyano was doing his voice, which is hilarious considering he voiced [[Anime/MobileSuitGundam00 Setsuna]]. Miyano doesn't usually voice {{Butt Monkey}}s. Until the gag OVA of the series and some CD Dramas showing Setsuna's humorous side were released, fans were rather shocked with Miyano's role.[[/labelnote]]
