* {{Sequelitis}}: ''Collision Course'' is nowhere near the quality of ''any'' of the previous films, according to the critics. The idea of it being an unnecessary sequel is a prevailing theme in many reviews. The film holds the lowest critical score on Website/RottenTomatoes at 18% and not just for the series, but for Creator/BlueSkyStudios as a whole. It was also far less successful at the box office than its predecessors (though still managed to be profitable).

But many viewers were so disgusted by their actions before that, that they had definitely painted the pair as AbusiveParents from the perspective of some fans.

Is very hard to find anyone who will defend them as great villains, but there seems to be an division between those who found just as annoying as anyone else and those who see them as some of the few amusing characters in the movie. Detractors cite how [[PlotIrrelevantVillain completely pointless their whole subplot was]] and [[TooDumbToLive their plan being so idiotic even the movie lampshades]]. Defenders find a bit amusing, thanks to the performaces of their popular voice actors and actually changing for the better by the end of the movie.
* BigLippedAlligatorMoment: There's an very odd scene at the beginning where Ellie prepares a surprise party for her and Manny's anniversary, and Manny realizes he had forgotten the date. Immediately afterwards, the first asteroids crashing interrupts the ceremony and the anniversary plot point is never mentioned again.

* EightDeadlyWords: A common criticism is that there's hardly any character worth rooting for, even if you liked the same characters in the previous movies. Manny and Ellie spend the entire movie [[KickTheDog trying to sabotage her daughter's wedding for rather petty reasons]]. Sid's quest for love is rather shallow. The Citiziens of Geotopia are Jerkasses that are uncaring of the rest of the world dying. The Dinobirds are going against our heroes for such [[DisappointedByTheMotive dumb reasons]] is impossible for the audience to wanted to win even if you are rooting against the Herd and lack EvilIsCool points to make up for it. Peaches and Julian are seen as bland sitcom-like characters and any other character borders between [[TheArtifact being pointless to the plot]] or an annoying PluckyComicRelief with none of them seeming to care at all about the asteroid situation. The only possible exception is Buck, who's ironically the only character that's taking the world-ending situation seriously and even he suffers from being DemotedToComicRelief.

* JerksAreWorseThanVillains: While the Dino birds are far from particulary popular characters, they often get a pass out of them being, one) {{Plot Irrelevant Villain}}s and two) midly amusing thanks to Creator/NickOfferman and Creator/StephanieBeatriz's performances, so they are far from the most hated characters in the movie. In exchange, Manny and Ellie get a lot of hate for spending the entire movie trying to sabotage her daughter's wedding while being uncaring of the world ending situation they are involved in.
