Added DiffLines:

* TearJerker: Jessica was romantically involved with her previous accomplice, Steven. She was heartbroken after he defected from Sinclair's group and spends the movie constantly texting him, hoping he will call back. Near the end, he does, but just as she's trying to speak with him on her cell phone, Fin's friend shows up and starts pelting her with snowballs, ruining her chance to reconcile with Steven and causing her to yell at the kid, which Steven mistakes for her insulting him. He ends up hanging up on her.

It's against site policy to have multiple tropes in the same entry separated by slashes.

* SoOkayItsAverage[=/=]SurprisinglyImprovedSequel: While it still wasn't on the same level as the first two films, the fifth movie is a noticeable improvement over the fourth, and actually feels like a ''Home Alone'' film.

* EvilIsSexy: Jessica, though she isn't so much evil as she is greedy.
* JerkassWoobie: The criminals, especially Sinclair, who has a valid reason for wanting to steal the painting.
* MorePopularReplacement: Finn Baxter was approved as a replacement of the Kevin [=McCallister=] of ''Home Alone 4'', which was a severe CanonDefilement retconning his previous portrayal by Creator/MacaulayCulkin. This is ironic, considering the first time Kevin got replaced in ''Home Alone 3'', his then-successor Alex Pruitt attained ReplacementScrappy status simply because he was a new character.
* RootingForTheEmpire: Sinclair and his team, not only are they all AffablyEvil {{Jerkass Woobie}}s, but Sinclair actually has a valid reason for wanting to steal the painting.
