* PortingDisaster: The PSX port. Not only is it even buggier than the original, several key features of the game were cut entirely.
* SequelDifficultyDrop: Hidden and Dangerous 2 adds the ability to heal mid-mission with medkits, generally has more forgiving combat and adds Helmets as an equipment option which can protect from an otherwise lethal headshot.
* SequelDifficultySpike: 2 adds a more realistic and restrictive inventory system, with both inventory slots and carry weight restricting your options, the AI is prone to insane accuracy that's completely impossible for the player on higher difficulties and enemies use grenades. (Which was something removed from the first game in the Deluxe Edition.)

* HistoricalVillainUpgrade: The expansion has the SAS fighting off the communist partisans in post-war UsefulNotes/{{Greece}}, where they are depicted as terrorists. However this can be seen as VideoGameHistoricalRevisionism, as the side the SAS was fighting for, the Kingdom of Greece, was no better, and its forces consists of former Nazi collaborators that engaged a campaign of systemic killings against leftists.
