* {{Anvilicious}}: After previous titles painted a surprisingly complex and nuanced portrait of medieval European Christianity through the Church of the Holy Rood, which had both good and bad people in its ranks and a very ambiguous view of how true or false their actual beliefs were, it's a bit of a regression for this game to make their predecessors out to be a bunch of one-note SourPrudes whose entire belief system is total bunk, even taking time out to confirm that, yes, their Messiah is in fact in the underworld. They do turn over a new leaf in one story arc, but still!

They do turn over a new leaf in at least one story arc, but still!

Just my major complaint, but I've talked it over with a few people and I know I'm not alone.

* FanDislikedExplanation: Most of the Holy Rood stuff is seen as undermining rather than reinforcing previous titles' worldbuilding.
