** Chica's Magic Rainbow is practically Scott's love letter to Videogame/IWannaBeTheGuy, filled with clusters of flowers that shoot out razor petals with little room to evade them, butterflies that shoot lasers and spiky fences that cover half the screen and come out of nowhere. Not helping at all is the titular character, who will shoot a flurry of lasers at you at several points whilst being a condescending prick to you over the fact that you're more than likely to be terrible at it, and will cause a game over should your struggles piss her off too much. Your prizes for surviving all of this? [[spoiler: Scott's avatar Animdude or Chipper. Worse still, to save Chipper, you have to get through in 3 minutes. At least Chipper warns you that it's hard]].

That, and, of course, robots don't even breathe... And upon closer inspection, it looks like the ball from the paddle ball is in their mouth.

** The Purple Guy is a flat 2D sprite alongside all the 3D models of the other characters, not getting a 3D model of his 2D sprite as the Crying Child did. He looks less than impressed in the teaser as well. He even lampshades it by saying he's not the true Purple Guy, but merely a sprite of him.

On top of that, people are now arguing over Scott's ''motivation'' for making that change, although this could be a result of his [[TrollingCreator normal tactics]]. Given how controversial this was and how it's still ongoing, we're not going into it any further.

* EnsembleDarkhorse: Lolbit. They're an orange-and-purple PaletteSwap of Funtime Foxy with GlowingEyesOfDoom like Marionette and Golden Freddy. Their only role is to sell items to the player, and yet they seem ''just'' as popular to draw as the original Foxy! Plus, being a recolor of [[AmbiguousGender Mangle]] and all, they've been drawn as both genders.

* CriticalDissonance: Probably the biggest example of this at the time. The reception of the game regarding this trope was ''bad'' when it was new on Steam, although this is again because Scott released the game a bit too early. That being said, by the time Scott pulled it, the game's rating was ([[ArcNumber oddly enough]]) 87%. By this point, Update 2 changed the overall game, and reception was much better.

* PlayingAgainstType: Creator/DebiDerryberry voices Chica's Magic Rainbow in a suprising turn of events. Usually, Deriberry voices characters who are very nice, and to see her voicing an annoying jerk is shocking.

** To clarify, the people who think Mangle is male have resorted to saying that the male pronouns coming first confirms it is male, and that the female pronouns were only added because the people who think it's a female raged at the male pronouns. The male side refuses to believe anything else, and some of them may actually jump at your throat if you dare say the gender isn't confirmed or bring up the female pronouns. BrokenBase doesn't ''begin'' to describe the situation going on. In fact, fixing the base is probably impossible at this point.

** The Update 2 characters are much more powerful than the other characters, so playing launch content is much easier. [[spoiler:Scott and Chipper are still hard to get because of the minigame you need to play to beat, though, and the end with Update 2 characters, their boss versions are still hard to kill.]]

** In the minigame FNAF 57: Freddy In Space, one of the mock sequels Scott is making is called FNAF 61: Freddy vs. Bonnie, and he also said that the game will begin the Freddy Cinematic Universe. It's obviously a shout-out to Film/BatmanVSupermanDawnOfJustice, and considering how critics panned both the game and the movie, you could actually feel sorry for both Creator/ScottCawthon and BenAffleck.

The minigame is pure NintendoHard, it taunts you in that annoying voice and even kills you if you die too many times or [[BerserkButton turn the voices off]]. [[spoiler: And that's not getting into it's the True Final Boss that's under a [[TimedMission time limit]] that is really hard to beat, even with the new characters you get]].
