* UnfortunateImplications: The storyline in which Hawk is investigated by the M Unit, and ultimately fools the lie detector and is allowed to keep his job. This suggestion that it ''was'' possible for gay people under investigation to outmaneuver the M Unit and keep their jobs edges up to [[BlamingTheVictim victim blaming]] of both the other characters and real people who lost their jobs (and sometimes their lives) after being investigated by the M Unit by implying that they might have been able to keep their jobs if they'd managed to be as cool under pressure as Hawk. (It's also just extremely unlikely that anyone, including Hawk, would've been allowed to keep their job after being reported to the M Unit for homosexuality, regardless of whether the investigators could conclusively prove anything or not.)

* AlternativeCharacterInterpretation: When Hawk [[spoiler:betrayed Tim to the M Unit,]] did he do it to protect Lucy and Jackson? Or was he ultimately looking out for his own interests (specifically, his career and his facade as a heterosexual family man), and treating his family as a justification for his selfishness? Or to put it slightly differently: was the worst thing Hawk ever did at least motivated by a desire to protect his family, or was he thinking about himself and only himself, as per usual?

** Tim and Louis: younger, PrettyBoy, has a hairy chest, Catholic, experiences {{Gayngst}} (although they both [[LateComingOut eventually come out of the closet]]), monogamist, submissive, {{Uke}}, BadLiar. Their lover often addresses them with an AffectionateNickname, they're both called a saint on one occasion, and they were held in a BridalCarry. They're also treated as their lover's PropertyOfLove.
