The Tokyo Drift based Fast and Furious game is far from being bad, and in fact, weren't for issues with handling, was an underrated gem in a then oversaturated Tuner-based racing game scene.

** Also overlaps with DoesThisRemindYouOfAnything: Crossroads is repeating the missteps of Tokyo Drift-based 2006 The Fast and the Furious game, being another [=FnF=] game developed by another British company, released by the same publisher, and received even more mediocre reviews.

** Slightly Mad Studios developed two games for a franchise which was trying to get away from being stereotyped as Film/TheFastAndTheFurious copycat (and succeeded for a short while). This time, they developed an actual [=FnF=] game, and it led to a bomb, which overlapped with HarsherInHindsight for some SMS fans (which most of it were left bitter against the third Videogame/ProjectCARS questionable design choices and quality problems).

* TheProblemWithLicensedGames: The game was excoriated by critics for its monotonous gameplay, mediocre graphics, questionable physics, and lackluster plot, to the point of making the Tokyo Drift-based [=PS2=] game a better [=FnF=] game (also developed by another British company and published by Bandai Namco Games back then). If weren't for the license, this could be called VideoGame/ProjectCARS: Crossroads instead.

* ScrappyMechanic: While the game was badly received, the multiplayer was even more criticized by the players who played it, requiring nine players on three sides (three on each side) in order to start the game.
