** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p76AW6x3P0I This scene]] is incredibly awkward in innumerable ways, and the way the actors don't even seem to be looking at each other has given rise to the theory that due to the [[HostilityOnTheSet feud]] between Creator/VinDiesel and Creator/DwayneJohnson, the two refused to even be in the same scene together, leading to some very [[SpecialEffectFailure poorly-shot]] ForcedPerspective to complete the scene.

* AssPull: The explanation given about how did [[spoiler:Letty survive to the explosion]] doesn't entirely make sense. Braga tells Brian that [[spoiler:they basically mistook another corpse for hers, which would be all fine except because there should have not been any other corpse in her car at that moment. Where did it come from, or why they did not even check its DNA if it had been really left unrecognizable, is never explained.]]

** Basically Han and Gisele's relationship throughout the whole movie. The plans they make for the future are hard to watch as the audience already knows they are DoomedByCanon and will never live their dream.

* HilariousInHindsight: Hobbs (Wrestling/DwayneJohnson) is told he's not a baller, which is amusing considering his role in the series ''Series/{{Ballers}}''.

* HesJustHiding: [[spoiler: Gisele's]] death could have been survivable, and her body isn't shown afterward, so a large number of fans hold out hope that she'll eventually return, especially in a series that has brought back so many presumably dead characters.

* MagnificentBastard: [[EvilBrit Deckard Shaw]] is a former [=MI6=] agent turned international criminal who seeks [[RoaringRampageOfRevenge vengeance]] on Dominic Torreto and his crew for putting Owen in a coma, attacking them one by one, such as Han Seoul-Oh who he supposedly kills in Tokyo. He would then lures Dom from Han's funeral to a secluded area to kill him there before Frank "Mr. Nobody" Petty rescues Dom, and later [[BigBadDuumvirate allies]] with Mose Jakande to ambush for Dom and Mr. Nobody while retrieving God's Eye. Locked up in a highly secured prison, [[Film/TheFateOfTheFurious Deckard]] breaks out and work with Luke Hobbs and Dom’s crew to capture a rogue Dom, while revealing to be collaborating with Dom and Owen in rescuing Dom's son from Cipher’s captivity. [[Film/HobbsAndShaw Working with Hobbs]] again to stop Brixton Lore from unleashing the super-virus "Snowflake", Deckard and Hobbs sneak into Brixton’s hideout to retrieve the device that would extract the virus from Deckard’s sister Hattie and find a way to defeat the super-powered Brixton in combat.

* HilariousInHindsight:
** The cable guns are surprisingly similar to the grappling hook in ''VideoGame/JustCause2'' in the way tethering one vehicle to another creates over-the-top physics-related havoc.
** Hobbs (Wrestling/DwayneJohnson) is told he's not a baller, which is amusing considering his role in the series ''Baller''.

* MagnificentBastard: [[BigBad Owen Shaw]] is a former soldier of the British Armed Forces turned criminal mastermind who used his skills to orchestrate many heists and remain one step ahead of law enforcements. Owen would recruit Letty Ortiz into joining his elite crew when his associate, Arturo Braga, failed to kill Letty and she lost her memory. Planning to steal a powerful Computer Processing Unit from a heavily armed military base, Owen would hijack a military convoy and steal a tank in hopes of using it to break in said base. Stopped only by the sudden intervention of [[BadassDriver Dominic "Dom" Torreto]] and his crew, Owen would be sent to the base where he arranged for Dom’s sister Mia to be kidnapped only promising to let her if Dom free him and gives him the CPU, while also revealing that Diplomatic Security Service agent [[spoiler: Riley Hicks]] was part of Owen’s crew. Though failing to escape with the CPU and ending up in a coma, Owen would fully recover from his vegetated state [[Film/TheFateOfTheFurious years later]] and work with his brother Deckard into freeing Dom from the control of his former boss, Cipher, by rescuing Dom’s infant son, showing that time has not diluted his skills.
