* HilariousInHindsight: When Dolores meets Evey, she [[https://zules.com/exvulnerum/comic.php?page=613 tells him]] to stay at least five feet away from her so she doesn't get cursed again. This page went up just before the COVID-19 pandemic hit, leading to lots of jokes about how Dolores was just an early adopter of social distancing.

->'''Zules:''' This is a big turning point, and I feel a strange mix of pride, dread, and expectation as I realize that it's taken over 800 pages for us to get here, and things are still only getting started.

That's embarrassing... forgot the bullets.

BaseBreakingCharacter: Evey's actions have split the fanbase rather fiercely. While everyone agrees he's a {{Jerkass}} at best, his fans see this as an understandable (and sometimes justified) result of stress. At first, his critics hated him for mistreating Amber while his fans pointed to her stalkerish tendencies as justification. Fans felt vindicated when it turned out he'd been [[spoiler:slowly losing his mind due to the chronic pain of Exvulnerum]], only for him to [[spoiler:try to give Exvulnerum to Amber in the hopes that she would pass it on to a developmentally-challenged child]]. The two factions have been going back and forth in the comments section for the better part of a decade.
JerkassWoobie: Evey lashes out at absolutely everyone around him. He's so mean to his vulnerables (Caroline and Amber) that many fans, and even some characters, consider him abusive. However, he's only like this because Exvulnerum repeatedly ruined his life. [[spoiler:It drove his father to suicide, tortures him every night, binds him to a deimon who tries to ruin all his friendships, and it won't go away until he gives it to the person he loves the most]].
SlowPacedBeginning: It takes seven chapters for the titular curse to even get mentioned, an additional three chapters for it to get explained, and the actual inciting incident doesn't happen until chapter 15. Most of what happens in the meantime is either character development or worldbuilding, with very few actual stakes. Even the artist (Zules) has [[https://zules.com/exvulnerum/comic.php?page=802 expressed mixed feelings]] about the pacing.
