** One of the commonly thrown around complaints about Amano's previous work, Manga/Reborn2004, was the treatment that many of the female characters suffered from, which lead to Amano even being accused of being sexist. Most of them were DemotedToExtra after the series began GrowingTheBeard, with roles that usually amounted to cooking and cleaning and taking care of the children, which often had them regarded as sexist stereotypes. Similarly, the female characters that did bordered FauxActionGirl territory and were either kidnapped or became a DamselInDistress needed to be saved by a male. élDLIVE addresses this criticism as early as the first chapter, by not only having a fully capable and compotent heroine (Misuzu) from the get go, but also has two other female protagonists as part of the main cast. Additionally, introducing a MasculineGirlFeminineBoy dynamic between Chuuta and Misuzu by having the former be more interested in cooking and housework, while the latter is more interested in sports and fighting.
** Another popular criticism towards Manga/Reborn2004 was the slow pacing it faced, especially with its first arc which originally began as a GagSeries that used a DebutQueue format to introduce many of its many characters and relied heavily on running gags for 60 whole chapters (which was slimmed down to 20 episodes in the anime) before the series finally becomes serious. In comparison, élDLIVE is a lot more fast-paced and action-packed as early as the first chapter.

* FandomRivalry: Seems to be having one, sort of, with Manga/Reborn2004, but it's not about the manga itself so much as whether élDLIVE should receive an anime adaptation over the more well-known and popular Reborn. Many Reborn fans wanted to see the Inheritance Ceremony arc and Curse of the Rainbow arc animated, and since Reborn still has a large fanbase even after the manga (which overtook the anime) ended, while élDLIVE isn't very popular, they believe that another season of Reborn made more sense. élDLIVE fans, many of whom are also Reborn fans, think that Reborn already has all the exposure it has, what with the anime having over 200 episodes and having tons of merchandise, even to this day, and that it's élDLIVE's turn have exposure.
* WhatAnIdiot: Chips trying to interrogate , a huge, scary monster who can't speak their language, like any other criminal.

* BrokenBase: The series in general has a broken base. Is it another good series made by Akira Amano with a lot of creative ideas and funny and interesting characters? Or is it just a generic shonen that's simply alright at best?
