** The turn limit in the games' PvP modes is not well-liked in Sorcerer's Trial, since it encourages extremely boring defending team compositions that tank out all the damage thrown at them until time runs out instead of putting up a fight.

* HighTierScrappy:
** Fairy Slumber is a spell that quickly became one of the most hated. The ability to inflict Sleep on at most ''five'' characters will definitely take a toll on your team, and it only gets worse with its upgrades, being able to reduce up to 40% turn meter alongside the aforementioned Sleep debuff!
** Hiro was subject to a fair amount of criticism for how easy it was to plug and play him into ANY team in the game, even those outside his Hero, Downtown, and Tech categories, due to how powerful a support he was. He was eventually nerfed, which drew further controversy from those who had spent money to get him early on only for him to be nerfed mere months later, a situation shared in the same patch by Maui. Even after that, Hiro is still an incredible character to use, and with the other Big Hero 6 characters, he may even be better then before.
** On the weak spectrum is Jasmine. When paired with Aladdin she is a force to be reckoned with thanks to the buffs they give each other, but when on a team without Aladdin Jasmine is considerably weaker with the only contribution she can really make being summoning Rajah to distract the enemy.
* LowTierLetdown: Tinker Bell is seen as the worst character in the game, and for good reason. She deals pitiful damage, her shields aren’t very useful, her cleansing only works on herself, and has bad stats all across the board.

* TierInducedScrappy:
** Once the spell became obtainable from the ''Toy Story'' event, the Bucket o' Soldiers rapidly dominated the game's three [=PvP=] modes due to its high trigger rate and the obscene amount of damage it deals. Combine that with the spell's huge health pool and it can carry much weaker teams to easy victories against much higher-level opponents, sometimes even as the last enemy on the field.
** Fairy Slumber is another spell that quickly became one of the most hated. The ability to inflict Sleep on at most ''five'' characters will definitely take a toll on your team, and it only gets worse with its upgrades, being able to reduce up to 40% turn meter alongside the aforementioned Sleep debuff!
** The previously mentioned Shan Yu definitely fits this. He is fast, can inflict Defense Down to an entire row of characters, deal high damage, and can increase the speed of other Kingdom characters.
** For a while, Buzz Lightyear. He was used almost non-stop for a while due to both of his abilities hitting hard and having super low cooldowns, one of which is a stun that does a lot of damage. Fortunately, he has since been nerfed, his abilities remain the same but he is now much frailer and slower.
** All the ''Franchise/{{Frozen}}'' characters are this to a degree, especially Elsa who can take on whole teams by herself, but when together they are almost unstoppable due to constantly giving each other buffs and heals. Having characters like Scrooge who specialize in countering buff-reliant teams are a must if you want to beat them.
** Kristoff in particular is the bane of the games' PvP modes since he can summon absurd numbers of trolls at extremely high speed and is pretty tanky, so it's not easy to kill him before the number of said trolls gets out of control. Said trolls have a very weak attack but also take a decent amount of effort to kill, especially since they each also get a heal that restores a decent chunk of health, keeping them, Kristoff, or his allies alive even longer. That, combined with the game's summons getting separate turns, absolutely chews through the turn limit timer, which can make it potentially impossible to kill Kristoff's troll army before the game runs out of time.
** Another weak character would be Tinker Bell. She is seen as the worst character in the game, and for good reason. She deals pitiful damage, her shields aren’t very useful, her cleansing only works on herself, and has bad stats all across the board.
** If you can get Ursula, which is difficult as this requires many attempts of beating her Raid, you'll find that she is as strong as she is during her Raid battle, retaining many of the perks and attacks she uses. Sure, she’s nerfed a bit (the attack that turns opponents into polyps isn’t an instant KO), but she's still a major threat.
** If you encounter a high power Mickey Mouse in either a Sorcerer's Tournament Defense or in a Club Conquest Tower, you may as well be screwed, especially if he has his Sensational Six teammates with him. His leadership, which is exclusive to those two modes on Defense, sets up the Sensational Six to decimate their enemies as fast as possible, while granting them bonus speed, offense, defense. On battle start, he and other Sensational Six teammates gain Haste, Defense Up, and Harmful Immunity for 2 turns each, while healing any of them that were below full health. The entire Sensational Six team gains extra bonuses and benefits when on Defense. Don't even think of killing him first, as when he has teammates still on the field, he will trigger Disneyland Forever, which will keep going if any of your teammates are killed during that. At G8, it can also heal his team.
** As mentioned above, Hercules is one of the most broken characters. He was able to carry entire teams, no matter the characters, to victory, due to his special Protect mechanic, which reduces incoming damage by 20% when he has Taunt or Protect. He also is able to attack multiple times, self-heal, possibly One-Hit KO with his specials, chance to gain Protect when someone gets damaged, inflict Offense Down with his basic, gain Invincibility, and more. AND he used to not lose Protect if he was hit when he had Invincibility but still gained 1 Heroism. If you go up against him, you'll have to get rid of him ASAP with high damage and purger characters like Wreck-It Ralph.

* SuspiciouslySimilarSong: The menu background music sounds suspiciously like the [[Ride/DisneyThemeParks Soarin']] suite.

** Creator/DisneyTelevisionAnimation has some good representation here; while there are a couple of safe choices such as [[WesternAnimation/DuckTales1987 Scrooge McDuck]] and WesternAnimation/DarkwingDuck (both of whom are under ''[[Franchise/MickeyMouse Mickey and Friends]]''), having [[WesternAnimation/ChipNDaleRescueRangers Monterey Jack]] (with Zipper) and '''[[WesternAnimation/{{Gargoyles}} Demona]]''' be playable here is certainly welcome. But at least some of them were previously available in games such as VideoGame/DisneyEmojiBlitz. No, the real shocker is the presence of the Infinity-Sided Die spell-it’s too obscure for the casual player, but for fans, it hints at some ''[[WesternAnimation/GravityFalls big]]'' [[WesternAnimation/GravityFalls things to come...]]

** Some of the obscure works that have playable characters in the game include ''WesternAnimation/TheThreeLittlePigs'' (The Big Bad Wolf), ''WesternAnimation/RobinHood'' (the title character and the Sheriff of Nottingham, the latter of whom being more unexpected), and even ''WesternAnimation/TheBlackCauldron'' (The Horned King).

** The inclusion of ''Jungle Cruise'' characters is also this, as no one was expecting characters from that movie, of all things, to be added via tie-in.

Added Hercules to the Complacent Gaming Syndrome portion

Added DiffLines:

** Hercules is known as one of the more broken characters, mainly due to the fact that if someone gains extra Turn Meter, the opposing side's Hercules has a good chance of attacking that character. When he also gains Protect, incoming damage is reduced, and he'll gain 20% Turn Meter when Protect is consumed. Each time an ability targets him while he has Protect, he'll gain 1 Heroism, and when he reaches 5, he will gain Invincibility, Guaranteed Critical, and cleanse all Harmful Effects. If played correctly, he can possibly kill the entire team at once with his Strength of the Gods ability, which WILL Stun on a Critical Strike. It got so bad that the next Legendary, Wreck-It Ralph, had to have a few abilities that when upgraded and geared up, could get rid of Hercules quickly.
