* HilariousInHindsight: Several elements of the fight take a hit of this as of ''Kingdom Hearts III''.
** The fight takes place in Olympus Coliseum. Olympus lacks a Coliseum in ''III''.
** The ability of Keychains to change the weapon's form is brought up, including Oathkeeper by name, but Sora only uses his Kingdom Key. ''III'' introduces Formchanges, which go full MorphWeapon - but neither the Kingdom Key nor Oathkeeper has a Formchange that actually alters the weapon he uses.
** Boomstick bemoans that Sora can't use his Drive Forms without party members (with a popup pointing out that the exception is just a gameplay mechanic to use his old moves). Formchanges take the place of Drive Forms in ''III'', and yes, Sora can use all of these ones regardless of party.
** Pit is getting nowhere at ground level, so he knocks Sora into the sky, only for Sora to triumph anyways. [[spoiler:In the ''Re+Mind'' DLC scenario, Xehanort's replicas do the same thing to the Guardians of Light, and are defeated nonetheless.]]
** At one point in the fight, Sora uses a pseudo-Dark Aura attack (several rushing thrusts followed by an overhead blow). [[spoiler:The final fight of ''III'' has Sora, forced into his Rage Form by Master Xehanort, do the same thing.]]
** Sora finishes off Pit with a beam of light from his Keyblade. Although he used a similar attack on the tail end of his fight against Xemnas in ''II'', that didn't end the battle, only left him helpless for a finisher of the player's choice. [[spoiler:Master Xehanort, however, '''does''' get finished with the beam he's hit by in ''III'', as do his combined replicas in ''Re+Mind''.]]
** Pit's fighting style in the match draws a lot of inspiration from his Smash Bros. moveset, and the fight ends with Sora using the Keyblade's locking/unlocking beam of light. Years later, Sora would be revealed as a DLC character in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, and his Final Smash similarly utilizes that function of the Keyblade.
