** In "Jurassic Jumble", Darkwing turns into a dinosaur covered in feathers, which Dr. Fossil thinks is ridiculous. Nowadays, feathered dinosaurs are scientific consensus.

** Dr. Fossil is a duck-turned pterodactyl who plots to turn everyone into dinosaurs. [[YouCouldHaveUsedYourPowersForGood Thanks to an iconic 2015 Spider-Man meme]], one can't help but think of old Sauron, a human scientist-turned pterosaur, and his desire to turn everyone into dinosaurs over curing cancer. Even better is that the comic book where the meme originated from also has Stegron the Dinosaur Man working with Sauron, bearing reminiscent of Stegmutt working for Dr. Fossil before his HeelFaceTurn.

* TastesLikeDiabetes: The Little Lost Bunnies are this intentionally. So much so that their mere existence is a BerserkButton for Negaduck.

** The VillainOfTheWeek in "Extinct Possibility" is a ''Tyrannosaurus rex'' named Johnny T. Rex. The show aired only a year after ''Literature/JurassicPark'' was published, and a few years before the [[Film/JurassicPark1993 film version]] would immortalize the scientific abbreviation for ''T. rex''.

* AwesomeEgo: Darkwing himself, as well as Tuskernini and Steelbeak.
** Negaduck! There are some people who dislike DW for his ego, but totally adores Negaduck, even though his ego is just as huge as Darkwing's.
* SugarWiki/AwesomeMusic:
** The theme song. Not just an awesome theme song, but probably one of the best pieces of NewJackSwing ever written.
*** New Jack Swing that includes a friggin' ''{{Theremin}}'' in the second verse! It really does have ''everything''.

** Comic!Quackerjack's new darker characterization. Some fans like it and point out this was how Tad Stones wanted the character anyway but MoralGuardians Disney shot it down. Others hate it and want the original more goofy and lighthearted Quackerjack back, arguing the creators should have realized that ship had sailed and derailing a beloved villain for WhatCouldHaveBeen was selfish and short-sighted.

* FoeYay: In spades.

** During the first team-up of the Justice Ducks, super-strong but not-too-bright Stegmutt [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dDXP73NQeUI deals with]] the green SissyVillain Bushroot via MetronomicManMashing. Two decades later, Loki, the BigBad of ''Film/{{The Avengers|2012}}'', pisses off the Franchise/IncredibleHulk, and proves himself a "[[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SdH8_MIIEpQ Puny God]]". Now, [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a3WqlkY8J68 mix it up!]]

* WhatAnIdiot: F.O.W.L decides to rebuild Tarus Bulba as a cyborg, and they don't think to take any measures in case he rebels.

* FunnyAneurysmMoment: In Negaduck's first appearance, he fires a shotgun in a movie theater. In 1991, it's audaciously funny. After the 2012 ''Film/TheDarkKnightRises'' theater shooting, it's horrifying.

** Negatron Nega Duck bringing a gun in a movie theather became a lot harsher after the tragic event involving a gunman in a movie theather.

* NarmCharm: [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0_WEv0vW5jE&ab_channel=MobileGameMusic "Kickin' In The Groove"]], a rap MusicVideo created to promote the show's premiere (and included on the VHS releases). It's such an unbelievably cheesy ([[EarWorm and catchy]]) relic of the early 1990's that it's endearing. Disney would create similar music videos for ''WesternAnimation/GoofTroop'' and ''WesternAnimation/{{Bonkers}}''.

** In The Apes of Wrath, Gosalyn said that the tropical island that they went to was "totally Tarzan" and imitated the Tarzan yell. Eight years later, and we get Disney releasing an actual Tarzan movie.

* NarmCharm: [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0_WEv0vW5jE&ab_channel=MobileGameMusic "Kickin' In The Groove"]], a rap MusicVideo created to promote the shows launch (and included on the VHS releases). It's such an unbelievably cheesy relic of the early 1990's that it's endearing. Disney would create similar music videos for ''WesternAnimation/GoofTroop'' and ''WesternAnimation/{{Bonkers}}.

* GermansLoveDavidHasselhoff: The show was incredibly popular in 1990's Russia (thanks to, among other factors, a [[{{Woolseyism}} very creative dub]]), is still fondly remembered and subject to much MemeticMutation.

* AcceptableTargets: Jambalya Jake is basically a ginormous hillbilly stereotype.

** The fact that Gosalyn was an orphan before Darkwing took her in becomes this since the abrupt retirement of Creator/ChristineCavanaugh, her actress, was rumored to be caused by her retaining custody of her children after her divorce. (The real reason according to Cavanaugh's obituary was to live a quieter life away from the spotlight).

* CanonFodder: ''WesternAnimation/DarkwingDuck'' has one of the largest amounts of fanfiction of a show from WesternAnimtion/TheDisneyAfternoon and part of this is probably because of all the interesting concepts and ideas it brought up but then didn't always fully explain. Fanfic writers love answering questions like, 'How does the Negaverse work?', 'What was Morgana's life like growing up with her mortal hating family?' and 'What would happen if more characters crossed over from ''WesternAnimation/DuckTales1987''?' to name a few.

** In "Hush, Hush Sweet Charlitan", Darkwing fantasizes about being a movie star and then shoots down the thought, telling himself, "You're a hero, not a movie star. Of course, there's no law that says I can't be both." Come the aforementioned "The Duck Knight Returns!", [[spoiler:the reboot version of Drake Mallard is the star of an attempted ''Darkwing Duck'' movie who then goes on to become the hero for real.]]

** In "Going Nowhere Fast", Honker claims a theory that [[BeethovenWasAnAlienSpy Abe Lincoln was a Martian]] as apparent evidence that Albert Einstein was going senile in his later years. Over fifteen years after the episode aired, [[WesternAnimation/AdventureTime a cartoon]] came out that featured Abe Lincoln as the king of Mars.
