* ComplacentGamingSyndrome: The strategy of killing all enemies save one that's vulnerable to stuns, stun-locking that enemy, and using the damage-free rounds after that to heal up the party with minimal threat has been going around, mainly because longer quests tend to be hard [[NintendoHard even by the games standards]], especially if the RNG has not been going your way.

This has since been patched so that enemies AND your own characters will gain additional stun resistance after being stunned once, making this strategy much more hit-or-miss.

Took A Level In Jerkass isn\'t a YMMV trope.

* TookALevelInJerkass: Used as a gameplay mechanic, no less! Each time a character gets too stressed, their behavior may be heavily affected, making them Selfish, Paranoid, Hopeless, or outright Abusive to the other party members.

* {{Squick}}: Thanks to the wonders of the RNG, it's possible for your party to include a Nymphomaniac Leper.Leper, which is actually a lot less bad that it sounds, as "Nymphomania" isn't an affliction forcing a hero to randomly molest his fellow party members, but a ''positive'' quirk which grants a better stress decrease when visiting the brothel. The true Squick is to imagine the Leper going to the brothel...

* NightmareFuel: Watching the hag throw one of your favorite heroes to her pot, and having to watch them being slowly cooked alive, deals heavy stress damage to the player.
** The intensifying background noise as torchlight fades. The squealing of pigs in the warrens probably takes the cake.
** Many of the monsters are quite disgusting. The fungal artillery are piles of mushrooms that have grown into human corpses, forcing them to walk around and spewing blight at their enemies. Swine wretches are horrendously mutated little creatures with human faces on them. Ectoplasms, huge chunks of slime with human skeletons inside: just imagine how those poor bastards slowly melted inside...

* TheWoobie: The caretaker has remained behind by himself ever since the narrator died, and judging by his frequent visits at the village facilities, this has taken its toll. Considering all the horrors now lurking at and around the estate, and that he has been in the middle of them for months or perhaps even ''years'', all the while nearly everyone else abandoned the area, it is not difficult to feel sympathy to the poor guy.

** Used against your party, as well. Many enemies will attempt to invoke this, such as an undead courtesan throwing tainted, acid wine at your heroes, Swine Wretches will vomit on them, and the Hag will [[ImAHumanitarian sample her stew]], all of which will both damage your party and stress them out.

** The Swine Prince defies most players' ShootTheMedicFirst instincts; the fight consists of the boss' pet marking a hero and stunning them, followed up by the boss dealing heavy damage to that hero. Even with a dedicated healer you typically won't be able to outheal the damage, so players might be inclined to kill the little pig first...''don't.''

Even with a dedicated healer you typically won't be able to outheal the damage, so players might be inclined to kill the little pig first...''don't.'''' If you do, the boss TurnsRed and will start hitting your whole party for heavy AOE every turn; if he's not already a turn or two from death, a TotalPartyKill is almost guaranteeed.
** The Hag, NightmareFuel aside, can be nearly impossible if tackled without preparation. Her pot takes up the front two slots, and she takes up the two behind it; every turn, if there's no hero in her pot, she'll use her first action to chuck one of them in at random. The hero in the pot takes MASSIVE damage over time, and the only way to free him is by hitting the pot (alternatively, the pot will dump him out when he hits his LastChanceHitPoint.) The problem? The hero is dumped at the front of the formation and moves the rest of the party back...and this movement ''counts as a turn for every hero.'' Trying to game the fight by simply ignoring the pot and healing the hero when he's dumped out on Death's Door? Watch as the round suddenly ends and the Hag uses her free turn to slap your party with a light AOE attack, dealing low enough damage to be irritating...except to that hero who just got thrown out of the pot, who suddenly finds himself dead. On top of this, because she never leaves the back row and the pot itself is effectively invulnerable, if you don't have a party that can consistently hit the back row from any position (the pot will ruin your formation and you won't have time to correct it), the fight can be basically UnwinnableByDesign.
** General consensus is that the Necromancer is the easiest boss; however, an unprepared player or one who rushes into the fight with a weak, struggling party can still find themselves up a creek. The Necromancer spams low-damage AOE, but his real threat is the meat shield skeletons he summons in front of him with every attack. Generally, as long as you either have AOE or strong single-turn single-target damage, you can mow through the skeletons and wear down the Necromancer without too much trouble. Lack both of those? You'll struggle to get through his meat shields while he and his skeletons slowly hack and chip away at your party.
