* RelationshipWritingFumble: If Danny's dream is supposed to show how much, deep down, he likes Sam, screaming in horror is not the logical reaction he should have to kissing her in said dream. It almost looks like something else happened to wake him up that was changed at the last minute to involve his repressed romantic feelings for Sam.

* MagnificentBastard: [[DreamStealer Nocturn]] is the suave, mysterious and cool "Ghost of Sleep" who sets his sights on Amity Park. Having traveled to other towns, Nocturn, along with his Sleepwalkers, have put everyone to sleep in each town so that he can increase his power by harnessing all the dreams and he is now in the process of doing the same to Danny’s town as well. First putting Danny to sleep and then in the Ghost Zone during a confrontation in order to keep him out of the way, Nocturn uses the helmets he puts on everyone once they’re asleep and dreaming in a machine where he has the dreams channeled to himself in a chamber. When Danny and Sam invade his own dream, even unconscious, Nocturn proves himself just as masterful and impressive in that he not just is able to see and control others' dreams, but can still bend his own dreams to his whims and still be totally aware while fast asleep.

In the credits of Nocturn's debut episode the name was spelled without an "e".

* TheyWastedAPerfectlyGoodPlot: The first half of the episode is mostly just Danny speaking to himself and regarding what's going on. An episode where Danny has to deal with the villain on his own, without his friends or sister to back him up, had some potential. However, once he starts waking them up, that goes away. Admittedly, he admits to needing help to deal with Nocturne and his Sleepwalker army, but it's still a missed opportunity.

* RomanticPlotTumor: Once Sam wakes up, the writers seem to operate under a rule that two minutes can't pass without focusing on her and Danny's feelings for each other, after half an episode whose plot had literally nothing to do with their romance.

* HeReallyCanAct: This episode more than any other shows David Kaufman's ability to make the corniest one-liners sound badass.
