The April attack does NOT take place on April Fool's Day.

** The lack of any pranks (such as maybe a fake werewolf report) in the April chapter makes it confusing why King even had that werewolf attack happen on April Fool's Day.

* SugarWiki/HeartwarmingMoments:
** Al giving Marty the firecrackers.
** Marty recalling a time where he fell over and hurt himself doing a handstand, and afterwards his sister Katie walked up to the bed and said one of her usual biting comments to him, but said it in a very clear AngerBornOfWorry /AwLookTheyReallyDoLoveEachOther way.
** After Elmer Zinneman sees his livestock killed by the wolf, and laments how his insurance won't cover it, he notes "Better my pigs than another person." Two months later, in November, when recruiting hunters, Elmer and Pete are mentioned as saying that even if they don't manage to kill the werewolf, they hope they will cause it to hide and not kill anyone.
** Katie making Marty a Yoda staff for his costume.
** The description of Donna Lee being "at last freed from her bondage" after her abusive husband dies.
* HilariousInHindsight: To one of King's later books, Literature/UnderTheDome which also had a Baptist minister named Lester. [[spoiler:In this book, Reverend Lowe, formerly a GoodShepherd who'd managed to ignore all of the prior signs that he was responsible for the werewolf attacks, becomes a more antagonistic figure after having his eye shot out by a young boy. In Under the Dome, the corrupt Reverend Lester Coggins makes HeelFaceTurn after witnessing a young boy inadvertently shoot his own eye out.]]
* JerkassWoobie: The werewolf () comes across as a good person who never asked to be a werewolf, and is plagued with first fear about the werewolf, then guilt and anxiety upon realizing just who the werewolf is, while succumbing to more despair, and becoming more selfish and sinister with attempts at justifications that lead to a final attempt to murder Marty in his home.
* NightmareFuel: Most of the werewolf attacks.
** The way the wolf bursts into Arnie Westrum's shack, snarling in a way that sounds almost like human words. The description of how he only manages to get in one swing with his ice axe, followed by screams heard from outside.
** Stella opening her door for the wolf, thinking it's just a dream, before remembering Arnie Westrum's fate as the wolf approaches her.
** The description of a night of howls heard across town, followed by a drifter being found with his stomach torn open, his frozen stiff hands held up as if to push something away, and wolf tracks all around his body.
** The illustration of the werewolf approaching Brady Kincaid on its hind legs, while grabbing at the kite he was flying. The text doesn't make it much better, with its description of Brady's growing terror as he realizes he's out after dark and hears the werewolf, and the description they find his body in.
** Reverend Lowe's nightmare about his entire flock turning into werewolves while he preaches about the danger of the Beast, and then finding the church's janitor gutted on his pulpit the next morning.
** Alfie is just sitting in his diner when the one customer in there with him suddenly transforms and attacks him over the counter.
** The werewolf attacking Marty in his own backyard. Yes he survives, but it's really frightening how close it gets to him before he fends the wolf off with a firecracker.
** being dragged out of his car by the werewolf and having his face torn off.
** Pete Zinneman starting to go to confront the werewolf when he hears it attacking his pigs outside only to freeze and retreat back to his room when he hears an almost human howl of triumph from it.

** Having Marty try to reach out with his knowledge to the Zinneman's and their vigilantes might have been interesting.

Erasin an example which probably isn't a good Signature Scene after all.

* SignatureScene: Probably the werewolf's attacks on Arnie and Brady.

--> The wolf is running towards him, running on two legs, its shaggy pelt painted orange with moonfire, its eyes glaring green lamps, and in one paw--a paw with human fingers and claws where nails should be--is Brady's Vulture kite.
