* MemeticLoser: During Trial 15, Mukuro bafflingly chooses to put a still-living Hajime in an incinerator after he is shot protecting her and fails to notice that he wasn't dead. Her stated reason is to protect his corpse from being tampered with. The faulty logic remains a meme.

* IdiotPlot: Everything related to Hajime's death in Trial 15 involved some exceptionally spotty logic, as Hajime is able to TakeTheBullet for Mukuro, an Ultimate Soldier who had never received a single wound on the battlefield out of sheer badassery while suffering from a paralyzing poison. Mukuro then proceeds to assume that Hajime is dead and decides to protect his corpse from being tampered by burning him in the incinerator. He also survives through 43 minutes of bleeding out, 2 minutes of being incinerated, and then 15 more minutes of laying in an incinerator during a blackout, before Chiaki happens to come by and turn the incinerator back on to unknowingly become the blackened.
** There's also Trial 13, in which Kiyotaka Ishimaru threw himself into an oven to put an end to Monokuma's newest Motive: filling the school with fog.

Added DiffLines:

* AngstWhatAngst: In the fourteenth trial, Nagito is executed for having been dragged unconscious into the hallway prior to the trial when the crime turns out to be a suicide in order to still have an execution. Despite the fact that a classmate is executed for a rule he didn't actually break, none of his classmates care at all.
* AntiClimaxBoss: In the twelfth trial, Hajime gives up pretty much as soon as Nagito brings up an actual piece of evidence against him, reasoning that there isn't much point in arguing against Nagito.
* ArcFatigue: The thirteen trial suffered from a bad case of this, featuring no blackened and going on for far too long because of a misunderstanding in Byakuya's alibi over something that made a suicide possible.
* AssPull: The killer of the sixteenth trial turns out to be Sonia, which nobody had expected due to the evidence against her being incredibly vague.
* BigLippedAlligatorMoment:
** At one point in the 13th trial, Togami says the killer coughed when he saw them arranging the crime scene. Hajime then asks everyone to cough in order for him to recognize the cougher, backed and demanded by Monokuma. Ultimately this leads to a few quips on the coughs and an agreement it wasn't useful.
** Hiyoko, Gundham, and Hagakure take time out of the 14th trial to start a contest over whether Hagakure is smarter than one of Gundham's Dark Devas. Hagakure loses.
* CargoShip: Throughout the 12th Trial, Kazuichi stubbornly refuses to admit that he was hiding in the bushes, spying on Gundham. It results in him being tossed into a bush by Monokuma as punishment for his lies. Naturally, a new ship was formed as a result.
* HilariousInHindsight: Despite the 19th trial having been planned for quite some time by the Trial's hosts, the trial ended up being announced on the same week that Aoi was seemingly killed off in ''Anime/Danganronpa3''. After some delays, the first thread was posted on the very day that her death was revealed to be a fakeout.

* TheyWastedAPerfectlyGoodPlot: Mikan is revealed to have been suffering from Despair Disease in the 16th trial. However, she did absolutely nothing under its effects except go to a meeting and die.
