* HilariousInHindsight: Xander's horrified reaction to unknowingly finding Dawn attractive is hilarious if you've read the comics, where they actually become a couple.

* NoYay: Buffy and RJ. Buffy is not only in her twenties while he is likely to be 16, but she's also working at the school RJ (and Dawn who also has a crush on him!) attends. At one point, Xander finds her straddling him on a school desk, making out deeply enough that it's clear that if Xander had been much later, it almost certainly would have escalated to sex (and possibly did, we have no idea what Buffy and RJ did before Xander arrived or what they continued after he leaves them alone again). The fact that it only happens because she's under an [[QuestionableConsent extremely potent love spell at the time only makes things worse]].

** The jacket is implied to stop working if the user stops regularly wearing it, given that Lance isn't surrounded by admirers anymore. So their mom wasn't under its influence throughout their entire marriage, because a grown man presumably wouldn't have been wearing it. But the fact their relationship started that way still makes it DubiousConsent.

* FridgeHorror: While RJ and Lance seem unaware of the jacket's magical power (especially seeing how RJ made no significant effort to get the jacket back after it had been stolen by Xander and Spike), their father apparently does as he insisted they wear it. Which leads to additional FridgeHorror with respect to their mother, who is implied to have been a victim of the jacket's spell - in other words, their mother was being raped throughout her ''entire marriage'', and Lance and RJ are [[ChildByRape Children By Rape]].
