An Ass Pull is related to a plot twist and thus isn’t one

* AssPull: Walt leaving his watch on top of a pay phone. In an interview on Creator/{{AMC}} immediately after the episode aired, Creator/VinceGilligan admitted that they panicked a bit upon realizing Walt's constantly wearing the watch ever since Jesse gave it to him would create a continuity error with the flash-forward scene in "[[Recap/BreakingBadS5E1LiveFreeOrDie Live Free or Die]]", so he just tried to make clear that Walt had ''some'' big reason for not wearing it to his final battle that's left to the viewer's imagination. "[[Recap/BetterCallSaulS6E13SaulGone Saul Gone]]" rectifies this somewhat by implying that the watch is tied to Walt’s greatest regret.

* CatharsisFactor: Basically the entirety of the episode. [[spoiler:Walt finally [[HeelRealization admits to Skyler]] that he did all of those bad things as Heisenberg for ''himself'' rather than to provide for his family, Skyler gets to give Hank and Gomez a proper funeral, Gretchen and Elliot will give the rest of Walt's money to Flynn on his 18th birthday, Hank and Andrea's deaths are avenged when [[KarmicDeath Todd and Jack are killed]], [[YourDaysAreNumbered Lydia will most definitely die from ricin poisoning]], and Jesse is finally free from both Jack's prison ''and'' Walt's manipulation.]]

* FanPreferredCutContent: Creator/VinceGilligan has described an unfilmed scene where Walt has an encounter with a former student. Many people wish the scene had remained and think it could have been one of the better SugarWiki/HeartwarmingMoments in a fairly grim episode.

Many people wish the scene had remained and think it could have been one of the better SugarWiki/HeartwarmingMoments in a fairly grim episode. It also would have showed Walt that the time he spent as a school teacher, a phase of his life that he looked down upon, did have some value.

** If the latter is true, why did Walt want to kill Jesse? Did he still view Jesse as partially responsible for Hank's death and wanted revenge? Did he genuinely believe that Jesse partnered with Jack, or was it a lie he made up on the spot to stave off his summary execution so he could have a chance to grab his keys? Was Walt insulted that Jesse was cooking Blue Sky on par with his own? Did Walt figure that Jack was forcing Jesse to cook but didn't care and wanted him dead anyway?

Was Walt prioritizing the gang and simply thought Jesse might also get killed in the process?

* AlternativeCharacterInterpretation: Did Walt always intend to rescue Jesse from the neo-Nazis after hearing that his Blue Sky was still on the market, or did Walt go to Jack's compound with the intent of killing everyone there, including Jesse, only changing his mind and saving him when he saw how broken and beaten he looked? Even though [[WordOfGod it's written in the script]] that it was always Walt's intent to kill Jesse with the gang until the last second, [[DeathOfTheAuthor some still insist that he intended to save Jesse all along.]] ''Series/BetterCallSaul'' muddies this further when the episode "Breaking Bad" vaguely implies that Walt's biggest regret was selling Jesse out to the neo-Nazis.

* WillingSuspensionOfDisbelief: Taking out a room full of people with a homemade sentry gun isn't the likeliest outcome, but who cares when the alternative is neo-Nazis not getting their comeuppance?
** {{Subverted}} to the surprise of the fans, the ''Series/{{Mythbusters}}'' and ''Creator/VinceGilligan'' himself when they tested how the sentry gun would actually function, and ''it worked just like it did in the show!''

* WhatAnIdiot: Walt confronts Jack and his white supremacist gang. Jack quickly decides to kill Walt, who then accuses him of [[spoiler:having gone into partnership with Jesse]].\\
'''You'd Expect:''' Jack to just shoot him dead. Whether or not Walt knows the truth of the situation isn't going to matter a whole lot when he's dead, and everyone else there knows exactly what's going on.\\
'''Instead:''' Jack acts all offended, and then has [[spoiler:the chained-up Jesse dragged into the room]] just to let Walt know how wrong he is.\\
'''As a Result:''' Walt then [[spoiler:activates a home-made automatic turret in his car's trunk, which ''kills the entire gang'' (and mortally wounds Walt), leaving Jesse as the only survivor]].

* HilariousInHindsight: Jesse drives away at top speed in a car at the end. Guess what Creator/AaronPaul's next major role was in? ''Film/NeedForSpeed''. May also double as an ActorAllusion, and triples as a pun in that ''Breaking Bad'' is about a different kind of speed.
