However, it's just as common (if not more so) for fans to actually invert the trope and claim that Blackadder and Baldrick were the last remaining members of their family -- George and Darling already being established as having some relatives still alive -- adding an extra element of tragedy in that their families were wiped out in this senseless war (and thereby consigning ''Blackadder Back & Forth'' to FanonDiscontinuity status).
