*** JerkassWoobie: Hansel & Gretel, Balalaika.

* ArcFatigue: The El Baile de la Muerte arc. It lasted three and a half years and was comprised of so many XanatosGambits that even fans were getting confused and frustrated at the end. Even the author admitted the arc was dragging.

* EvilIsSexy: [[MagnificentBastard Balalaika]] is [[GrandmaWhatMassiveHotnessYouHave hot]]. [[DarkActionGirl Revy]] is [[{{Stripperific}} hot]]. [[KnifeNut Shenhua]] is [[ShesGotLegs hot]]. [[CorruptChurch Eda]] is [[NaughtyNuns hot]]. [[AxCrazy Roberta]] is [[{{Meido}} hot]]. All of the main female characters are, to some degree, evil (as is everybody else in this series). And they are [[HotAmazon hot]].

* TheWoobie: Garcia.

* FetishFuel: Lots...

** Subverted to some extent in that their physical attributes are ''very'' rarely mentioned. {{BadAss}}ness overrules.
* FetishFuel: The scene in the penultimate episode where Balalaika kneels over Rock while holding a gun to his head is strangely erotic.
** Also, the scene where Gretel disarms Eda in Episode 15 has some disturbing LesYay overtones. Kinda doesn't help that after the first grope (feeling for her gun holster, so it's justified), she gropes her again, this time lifting up part of tank top and grabs a nice handful of Eda's cleavage while her voice drops an octave. I was in need of cold shower after that one.
** Even in the show there are some shown by the characters: Balalaika seems to almost kiss Rock, when he has the balls to, ''again'', ask to [[strike:save]] not kill [[spoiler:Yukio]] for a ''second time''. Granted, the next time he goes in different direction with it, but still, she seems attracted to how Rock will actually stand up to her.
*** She seemed touched that he chose the right gift to sweeten the offer with. [[spoiler: An excuse for a massacre.]]
** Also, in the third episode, she kicks Chin in the face from only a few feet away. Translation: Balalaika is extremely flexible.
** And let's not even ''go'' into what turns on the Twins.
** Revy. Especially in [[SheCleansUpNicely her outfit from the Tokyo Arc]].
** Chapter 67 of the manga - Sawyer stops Revy's argument with Shenhua [[http://manga.animea.net/black-lagoon-chapter-67-page-22.html by TICKLING her.]]
** Revy has been to prison. Not only that, she was the ''man'' in a few relationships. [[spoiler:She practically threatens to ''wreck'' Jane, when Jane hints that she'd like to invite Rock to a little romp with her and Benny. And possibly some other people as well.]] Wow.
** Every time Revy slaughters some random {{mooks}}, I get chills.
** [[LittleMissBadass Fabiola]] using Capoeira, showing off her flexibility. And her bike shorts.
** Chapter 76: [[spoiler: Roberta may have been taken by surprise, but she was enjoying Garcia's kiss immensely if her heavy panting and moaning was anything to go by...]]
** Roberta offering herself to the FAR commander who's holding a gun to her heart, because the smell of death turns her on. Definitely a Rule 36 moment [[spoiler:right up to when she blows his guts away with a belt buckle gun.]].

* MagnificentBastard: Rock is definitely headed there, if not already an example.

* {{Moe}}: Young Balalaika. All she wanted was to restore her family's honor by competing in the Olympics; was that too much to ask?
** Hansel and Gretel can also be very {{Moe}} when they aren't killing people left and right. [[EnfantTerrible And they know it.]] See GrotesqueCute for when they ''do''.
** Garcia and Roberta. Let's just leave it at that, lest the flood of d'awwww rush in.
** Fabiola has shades of this too, although she tries to downplay it for the sake of dignity. Her favorite candy is lollipops.

** The english speaking in the last anime arc. My ''GOD'' it's horrible.
** NarmCharm (It is rather hilarious to listen to, and the english dub complements this with GratuitousJapanese)
*** It's not quite so gratuitous since the characters speaking Japanese are ''actually'' Japanese. One wonders why they found it necessary to have new English VAs for the Yakuza characters.

** Your Mileage May Vary during the Yakuza arc, Yukio's English voice in particular is quite hated. In addition, the English dub removes many of the foreign languages that are spoken in the Japanese version of the series (such as Russian by Balalaika and Mandarin by Shenhua), in favor of simply translating these instances into English.
** They do still preserve ''some'' of the foreign language dialogue, however. Balalaika will still let loose with some Russian every now and then.

* WhatAnIdiot: Chaka. [[spoiler: He KNOWS that Revy's a gunslinger, from a town reknowned for its toughness all over Asia...so, to attract her attention, he abuses and mistreats the man she's protecting, hoping to get her to draw her gun.]] Not to mention [[spoiler:his treatment of Yukio, who has a badass protector of her own in [[{{Samurai}} Ginji Matsuzaki]]]].

* SelfishEvil: The most of characters
