* SpecialEffectsFailure: The CGI as a whole is often a point of criticism when it comes to the movie, due to overuse and debatable quality. It's made more conspicuous by the fact that some of the CGI looked good back in 2002, but [[TechnologyMarchesOn hasn't aged particularly well]].

It's made more conspicuous by the fact that some of the CGI looked good back in 2002, but [[TechnologyMarchesOn hasn't aged particularly well]]. The final battle between the clones and droids looks like a cartoon, as do most of the aliens, and the green screen is quite noticeable.

* UnintentionallySympathetic: Anakin's massacre of the Tusken Raiders in revenge for his mothers death, including the woman and children who'd have had nothing to do with it, is portrayed as wrong such it's his StartOfDarkness. But given the Tusken's seemed to be [[AlwaysChaoticEvil a whole race of bloodthirsty assholes]] who always attack people, and just kidnapped and tortured his mother to death, [[KickTheDog for no reason]] caused quite a few viewers think Anakin was instead completely justified. (ExpandedUniverse works both before and after this film have near-uniformly presented the Tuskens as {{Noble Savage}}s who have legitimate grievances, but the films all portray them more as TheSavageIndian in Tatooine's SpaceWestern motif.)

** "He's a political idealist, not a murderer," says Ki-Adi-Mundi, in response to Padme saying she thinks Count Dooku is behind the attempt on her life. Does that mean they never found [[WesternAnimation/StarWarsTalesOfTheJedi Yaddle's body]]? Because it would be pretty obvious she was killed with a ''lightsaber''.

** The shared look between Yoda and Mace when Obi-Wan delivers his report about Sifo-Dyas ordering the Clone Army becomes more significant when [[Recap/StarWarsTheCloneWarsYodaArc it's revealed]] that Sifo-Dyas had already advocated for an army and was rejected. The two masters are clearly dismayed that he not only took such radical action on his own but disobeyed the Council in doing so.

* HesJustHiding: Given the number of cool briefly seen or background Jedi during the battle scene and the confirmation that there were unseen survivors who escaped through the tunnels in both Canon and ''Legends'', it's nice imagining characters like the various background Jedi whose kicks and DualWielding stand out during {{Freeze Frame Bonus}}es and the duo who toss spare lightsabers to Obi-Wan and Qui-Gon survive offscreen.

** A group of French psychiatrists advanced a theory that [[https://www.wired.com/2007/05/anakin-skywalker-borderline-personality-bipolar-or-narcissist/ Anakin has borderline personality disorder]]. The theory that he had some kind of mental illness even made it into the licensed ''Literature/CoruscantNights'' trilogy by Creator/MichaelReaves, with protagonist Jax Pavan (an escaped Padawan working as a PrivateDetective after Order 66) recalling Anakin being extremely arrogant and prone to wild mood swings. WebVideo/CinemaTherapy also [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a9liFjwDHbY diagnosed Anakin with borderline personality disorder]].
