** Having the homunculi clone a Purple Crystal with multiple traits that increase its selling point at shops makes it very easy to rack up massive amounts of the game's currency, cole. Not only that, but you can use this money to buy benefits that directly increase your stats and alchemy abilities, as well as other benefits. Additionally, any money you have at the end of the game will carry to a NewGamePlus, meaning that you can start getting great benefits right away.

** The Sun Flower comes with max points in every elemental category, so you can just freely toss one in any recipe you can and max out just about everything. ''Plus'' ended up having to nerf it by having some of its new recipes rely on [[DoWellButNotPerfect reaching precise numbers]] in order to prevent the player from just indiscriminately spamming it.

* EvenBetterSequel: At least according to the review circuit. In Japan, it's the highest-reviewed ''Atelier'' game ever made. Period. It was similarly the entry with the highest aggregate rating on [[http://www.metacritic.com/search/all/Atelier/results Metacritic]], and still has the second highest by a difference of one point[[note]]technically it ties with ''Totori Plus'', but T+ barely even breaks the necessary 4 reviews to place, while E&L has ''twenty-six'' reviews, the highest number since ''Iris 3''; even the "new queen", ''Rorona Plus'', has fewer[[/note]], ''and'' brought in the first perfect score the franchise has ever seen on that aggregator. And as ever, while the actual average may seem a little on the low end, it's due to the ever-present problem of some critics just not understanding the game - the high scores stand among the very highest the franchise has ever, ever seen outside of Japan.

And as ever, while the actual average may seem a little on the low end, it's due to the ever-present problem of battle system having some critics just not understanding of the most depth an Atelier game could have at the time. While these factors were a bit polarizing for returning fans (see ContestedSequel above), it made the game - into an easy entry gate for EasternRPG fans and was treated as the high scores stand best Atelier title among the very highest the franchise has ever, ever seen outside of Japan.gaming press for a long while.

** For that matter, New Game Plus is pretty much just easy street if you some time crafting the best equipment, or even semi-decent stuff. You keep everything you have equipped to your character in terms of weapons, armor and accessories and can buy back synthesized items you had equipped about halfway through. This allows you pretty much just rout any enemies you come across for most of the game.

* PlatonicWritingRomanticReading: Believe it or not, Escha and Logy weren't intended by the devs to be pushed as a romantic pair when the original [=PS3=] version of the game shipped, but when you have a pair that works off OppositesAttract with a deep and meaningful bond plus some things that are really hard to ''not'' read as ShipTease, you're inevitably going to get people shipping them ''really hard''. By the time ''Plus'' came around, Gust gave up and let people go for explicitly romantic options if they wanted.

* BrokenBase: Depending on who you ask, the FinalBoss theme, "Colony Collapse Disorder", is either one of the greatest songs in the series or one of the most obnoxious, {{Narm}}-filled ones, something that pretty much entirely boils down to how you feel about the repetitive "ko-ko-ko-ko-ko-ko" permeating through the entire thing.

* ContestedSequel: The game is still generally agreed to be good in its own right, but while its status as a critical darling for its accessibility and an easy [[GatewaySeries gateway entry]] into Atelier got many players in the mainstream gaming circuit to call it an EvenBetterSequel, returning fans were a little more critical of it, often preferring previous game ''[[VideoGame/AtelierAyeshaTheAlchemistOfDusk Ayesha]]'' or even ''[[VideoGame/AtelierMeruruTheApprenticeOfArland Meruru]]'' for various reasons, ranging from ''Escha & Logy''[='=]'s more slow-paced plot to it being [[ItsEasySoItSucks a little too much on the easy side]] compared to its predecessors.

** Funnily enough, though, among fans this status is a little more debated - some fans take issue with a few elements (like Logy's central position to the plot), as outlined on the main page and think somewhat better of ''Meruru'' or ''Ayesha''.

* GatewaySeries: The Dusk series was already made in the hopes of pushing more actively to get the Atelier series to reach a global audience, but ''Escha & Logy'' was especially successful at this, since its presentation style and the inclusion of a male protagonist managed to get the attention of EasternRPG fans who would have otherwise passed the series off as "{{Moe}} bait". While its sales were moderate in Japan, it sold like hotcakes in Western countries, and word of mouth among retailers says that it was probably the most successful modern Atelier title there until the later Mysterious series and Ryza games became even bigger breakout hits.

** Escha's ultimate attack item, the Knowledge Book, when used in a Double Draw with the proper build, can inflict [[NoKillLikeOverkill over a million damage]], more than enough to inflict a OneHitKO to any enemy in the game including the FinalBoss and {{Bonus Boss}}es. Even if you don't take the effort to craft the exact equipment and properties needed to reach that amount of damage, it can deal insane amounts of damage if you give it just decent properties.

* ShipperOnDeck: YOU. A well-promoted feature of the ''Plus'' version was the addition of new events that allow the player to decide to upgrade Escha and Logy's relationship into a romantic one.
