* SpoiledByTheFormat: The AO3 version of the series is particularly guilty of this because of the tag function. While character tags avoids this by not tagging characters whose mere presence will give away the plot, Red Reef is quite terrible at avoiding this with the miscellaneous tags, seeing as the tag list for Seven Stars gave away the fact that .

** You probably jumped into Seven Stars thinking it is just a retelling of Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone, with Akko in Harry's role and so on. So the appearances and mentionings of Kobayashi, Tohru, Nanoha Takamachi, and Blair though you might confuse her with a background character named Blair from LWA, who was AdaptedOut to avoid confusion may come off as very unexpected for you the first time. On AO3, due to the site allowing a single work to be tagged with more than two fandoms and more than four characters, you'd be surprised by the number of crossovers instead of what crossovers are involved.

** One of the things mentioned in the news report in the prologue of Seven Stars is "Americans electing a competent president". While it was funny at first, it stopped being so after Donald Trump, the US President IRL as of this writing, made several decisions with both national and international ramifications that called his competence as POTUS into question. Especially after Evil Within revealed that he does exist in this series' universe, and is a member of the Purifiers.

Not So Different has been reworked by TRS into Not So Different Remark

** Akko and Ursula (aka Chariot) both reacted to what Sucy's potion did to the Minotaur by vomiting into a dustbin (the same dustbin, even). ***When Gospel of Aradia saw the release of its 6th chapter, an entire year after the 5th, Red Reef reveals that the hiatus is due to him being tested positive for COVID-19 (thankfully he recovered and then got vaccinated), making the entire premise of Evil Within much harsher in hindsight.

Unfortunate Implications needs a credible source

* UnfortunateImplications: In chapter 30 of Contest of Champions, there is a brief moment where Akane Kowata is fighting "an angry-looking gorilla accidentally summoned by Lin-Lin Chang". You can dismiss it as a FunnyBackgroundEvent that lasts only a sentence, until you realize what else an obviously Chinese character summoning "an angry-looking gorilla" looked like...

Not YMMV

* AuthorTract:
** The author occasionally take jabs at Literature/HarryPotter for the sole purpose of taking jabs at Harry and his series, resulting in flashbacks and Gilligan Cuts that have little to do with the story.
** The author absolutely loves Serenity Academy, to the point of telling the readers about it in the afterwords of nearly every chapter in Contest of Champions.

* PlayingAgainstType: Akko is usually loud, hyperactive, and dumb in most other fanworks, as with her canon personality. This Akko seldom raises her voice, is very patient and careful, and not to mention somewhat intelligent (at least enough to not qualify as dumb). Her being a DeadpanSnarker here is also a notable depart from her canon self. The only thing she has in common with her canon self is her idolizing Shiny Chariot, a trait that is quietly dropped from Evil Within onwards.
* ShowDontTell: The plot and worldbuilding follows this rule very nicely. All the insults to Harry Potter, unfortunately, violates this rule by making it rather obvious the attacks are directed at Harry Potter, with the first two attacks in Seven Stars even directly namedropping the books. Some of the attacks are even done ForTheLulz, which caused them to end up as examples of BigLippedAlligatorMoment listed above.
