It has become associated with him to the point of a Lego figure of him being given away with a DVD of his matches with an axe as an accessory. There is also at least one promo photo in which he appears with an axe.

** Ever since his FaceHeelTurn has viciously beaten up company co-owner (and non-wrestler) Jim Smallman, threatened to set Mark Andrews on fire to get a title match, tried to cut Wrestling/WillOspreay's ear off, seemingly killed and eaten someone and tried to act on a threat to cut Ospreay's head off. He also took to actually carrying an axe around with him towards the end of his championship run, even taking a swing at Ospreay during their final match together.
** As part of IPW's goal to get all of the Defiant titles, Primate and him fought early for the Hardcore title, and closed ''Defiant #9'' fighting for the Tag Team titles against Mark Haskins and Chris Ridgeway. So to offset the disadvantage of having to fight two violent fights on the same day, he brought a hatchet, which triggered most of Team IPW entering to the ring and ended in a DQ, allowing Primate and Jimmy to retain the titles.

** With the Haskins couple (Mark Haskins and wife Vicki). Not the fault of the Haskins, as heel opponents are quick to use Jimmy's HairTriggerTemper to their own advantage.

* CombatCommentator: At ''ICW Hey Look! It's That Mad Wrestling Thing Aff The Telly Tour - Pin Pals''

* CreateYourOwnVillain: It could be argued that Jim Smallman's actions were the catalyst for his first FaceHeelTurn in ''PROGRESS''. Smallman made Havoc compete in a hardcore match against James Davis, after Havoc made it clear that he wants no part of that style anymore and had been told by Wrestling/NigelMcGuinness, that "if you can hang with Wrestling/ZackSabreJr, you can hang with anyone". To convince Havoc to do the match, Smallman gave him a contract for any match he wanted at any time. Havoc, bitter that someone he considered a friend had in Havoc's own words "shortened my fucking life", he attacked Smallman with a chair at the next show and would eventually challenge the new champion Mark Andrews to a match and get it by threatening to set Andrews on fire. Havoc won the championship and started his two year long reign as champion.

* DeadpanSnarker: Especially during the Q&A video he took part in, when at ''PROGRESS''.

* FlippingTheBird: Constantly. To both his opponents, and his allies, especially in the latter group [[VitriolicBestBuds Mark and Vicky Haskins]].
* FromNobodyToNightmare: Started out in ''PROGRESS'' as a Face who lost almost every match. After a match with his career on the line, he turned heel and became a monster, winning the Progress Championship and having the longest title reign in the company's history.

* HateSink: He was absolutely loathed when he was the champion.
* IconicItem: He's very associated with an axe, thanks to how he threatened Wrestling/WillOspreay with one during their feud.
* ImAHumanitarian: In one promo for ''PROGRESS'', he's seen cannibalizing a body, in gruesome detail.
* IntendedAudienceReaction: His reign as ''PROGRESS'' champion featured intentionally cheap finishes to title defenses against popular faces, in an effort to make the one where he loses all the more satisfying.

* KnightOfCerebus: Became this when he turned heel in ''PROGRESS''. Before that, most of the heels were just assholes. Havoc was AxCrazy as described before. When he threatened to set Mark Andrews on fire for a title match someone from the crowd shouted out "you're a psychopath".
