* AdaptationalSecrecyDowngrade: Much like in the [[ComicBook/UltimateSpiderMan comic]] it was based on, the Spider-Man of this series isn't as good at keeping his SecretIdentity as other versions. In the first season alone, his identity is known to SHIELD (to the point where he comfortably unmasks in front of SHIELD agents several times) and his teammates (who are also kids at his school). He reveals the secret to more people as the series goes on, with it eventually being revealed [[spoiler:that his Aunt May [[SecretSecretKeeper had known about his double life for years.]]]]

* DeducingTheSecret Identity: One of Peter's biggest fears in the pilot is that Aunt May would be furious if she ever found out he was Spider-Man, especially if it brought villains to their doorstep. As a result, he takes great pains to hide his secret identity from her. The season three finale reveals after Grandmaster took her and most of New York City hostage, that she always knew about her nephew's superheroics. [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rsr1aKWuUsQ As she tells Peter]], who insists that she evacuate and "I'm sure Peter is fine," she raised Peter and is practically his mother. A mother always knows. May was fine with Peter working with the Avengers and Nick Fury because they're professionals; being solo with a ragtag team against a greater threat is a whole other level of danger. Peter has to reassure her that he has to do this because it's what Ben would do. She reluctantly agrees but makes him promise to be on time for dinner so that she knows he's okay.

* BefriendingTheBullied: Early in season two, Peter and Luke notice that, while he's stopped harrassing Peter, [[TheBully Flash]] has moved on to a new target, a nerdy kid named Alex. Knowing how much it can hurt to be bullied, Peter tries to befriend Alex and encourages him to get help. Alex sees Peter's offer of friendship as a form of pity and refuses, even though Peter keeps trying to help. Things get especially bad when Peter realizes that [[CanonCharacterAllAlong Alex O'Hirn]] has been stealing [=OsCorp=] chemicals to become the Rhino and get revenge on Flash.

** In "The Rhino", there's a kid being bullied that no one (save Peter and Luke) tries to help. Feeling trapped and wanting revenge, the kid decides to steal a dangerous item and brings it to school so he can attack his bully. Plus, in the end, the bullied kid is arrested while the bully (although repentant about letting things go too far) gets off pretty much scot-free.
