''Ridonculous Race'' was well received by critics and audiences with many fans seeing it as a return to grace after several lackluster seasons of its parent series (that said, [[BrokenBase a vocal minority would say otherwise]]). However, it was confirmed in late September 2018 by Fresh TV co-president and co-creator of the ''Total Drama'' franchise, Tom [=McGillis=], that there are currently no plans to continue this series or the original, claiming it to be due to fleeting demographics and the concept of spoofing reality TV no longer being marketable. Thus, making it the last competition based installment in the franchise as of 2015, as well as Fresh TV's second animated series, or third counting the U.S. version of ''WesternAnimation/{{Stoked}}'', to become a one-off, after ''WesternAnimation/{{Grojband}}''. However, with the original ''Total Drama'' having been {{Uncancelled}}, the possibility of continuation has now opened up.

* ExactWords: Don treats the rules in this fashion. For example, Owen tries to claim he was the cheese because he ate the cheese they used of transportation. While Chris permitted this in "Slap, Slap Revolution" with the sausage, Don doesn't give him leeway and penalizes him and Noah.

Wrong character's name.

* SadistShow: It's only a little better with Don in charge. The challenges themselves are still diabolical. Lampshaded by Emma in "Mediterranean Homesick Blues", where she notes on a Travel Tip that "eaten contestants will result in disqualification".

* KickTheSonOfABitch: [[spoiler: Kelly telling Taylor all her awards were fake, including the ones she won for pageants.]]

** Taylor spends all her early appearances treating her mother like crap and telling her how useless she is while rubbing her (Taylor's) many achievements in Kelly's face. Guess who's the one to KickTheSonOfABitch with her later on and [[spoiler: triumphantly humiliate Taylor by revealing it was all a lie.]]
