* SurprisinglyRealisticOutcome: When Colonel Creed wonders to Alex why she can't access Shiny's weapons or remember how she designed him (despite being a child prodigy), Alex has a [[JustifiedTrope sound argument]] for that. Her brain isn't the same shape as it was when she was 3. In the last 10 years, it's grown and developed. She even makes a pointed observation that recalling specific early childhood memories are difficult (even for child prodigies).

* BlackComedy: The show will indulge in a bit of this every once in a while. For example, in the first episode, a careless reporter, who's doing more criticizing than reporting, ends up getting acid-sprayed by the Kaiju, turning him into a standing skeleton who drops his perfectly intact mic. (The shot of which is featured among the episode's credits.) As an ambulance pulls up behind him, he only had one more thing to say after that:
--> "''That stings''"...
