* ActionHoggingOpening: The show is far more low key and slower paced than the action packed intro would have you believe. In true '70s cartoon style, ''none'' of the events shown in the intro ever take place within the episodes. "My Favorite Mystery" finally gives context for each scene in the opening sequence.

''Mike Tyson Mysteries'' is an animated show on Creator/AdultSwim which ran from 2014 to 2020. It's the first show for that network to be produced exclusively for AS by Creator/WarnerBros Animation (the ''{{WesternAnimation/ThunderCats|2011}}'' reboot was produced for Creator/CartoonNetwork first, then moved onto Creator/{{Toonami}}). In the same vein that ''WesternAnimation/TheVentureBros'' is a throw back to '60s SuperScience shows like ''WesternAnimation/JonnyQuest,'' this pays homage to both Creator/HannaBarbera mystery cartoons and '80s action hero shows like ''WesternAnimation/MisterT'' and ''WesternAnimation/ChuckNorrisKarateKommandos''.
