* RunningGag: Trains. So many trains. Pretty much every time Rex gets ''near'' a subway or other train line he's pretty much guaranteed to have a near miss with a train. Even Breach seems to be aware of this: in "Hard Target" she sends him through one of her portals and straight onto a train line. Of course, there's a train heading straight for him.

* ComicBookAdaptation: Several comic stories based on ''Generator Rex'' appeared in ''Cartoon Network Action Pack''.

** A story in the 59th issue of ''Cartoon Network Action Pack'' had Bobo yell insults at a berserk Rex to try and get him to stop attacking people with his nanites. His insults paraphrase those used by Egon Spengler and Ray Stantz toward their sample of the psychomagnotheric slime from ''Film/GhostbustersII''.

The plot focuses on an amnesiac 15-year-old boy named Rex, who gains the ability to produce bio-organic machines from his body due to a global incident known only as "The Event", which caused microscopic nanomachines called [[{{Nanomachines}} Nanites]] to infect every living thing across the planet, causing random mutations. Due to his unique ability to control his nanites and cure others of theirs, Rex is enlisted by the private agency known as Providence, which has tasked itself with the job of protecting civilization from E.V.Os, the term given to those who have mutated due to the Nanites.

Rex is assisted by his talking chimp and wisecracking E.V.O sidekick, Bobo Haha, and a mysterious Providence agent named Agent Six, who doubles as Rex's guardian.

* TeensAreShort: For some reason, Rex, Noah, Circe, and really every teen on the show, most of whom are within the 15-17 range, are noticeably shorter than most human adult characters. It's hard to compare them with the InnocentBystanders or other normal humans though, and Six does seem to be fairly tall.
