* GenkiGirl: Frida. In fact, viewers in Asia are labeling her the "Latina LightNovel/HaruhiSuzumiya".

* AccidentalMisnaming: Manny has a habit of mispronouncing Dr. Chipoltle Jr.'s name, prompting him to correct him in annoyance. However, he has no problem pronouncing Chipoltle Sr.'s name.

* MyNameIsNotDurwood: Manny never seemed to get Dr. Chipotle Jr's last name right, much to the latter's chagrin.

* SlapstickKnowsNoGender: None of the characters avoid getting hurt for the sake of funny, least of all Frida who gets AmusingInjuries almost as often as Manny himself. There's even an episode dedicated to it.

* AluminumChristmasTrees: Zebra Donkey, the school's mascot. Yes, believe it or not, there really is such a thing as a zebra-donkey hybrid. They're commonly referred to as "zedonks" or "zonkeys". ** As it turns out, this might not be so much of a coincidence: [[spoiler: According to a picture on the creator's DA account (and some comments), Manny and Django might possibly be ''half-cousins!'']]

* HeelFaceTown: Shogun City was once a WretchedHive in Japan before its superhero the Seventh Samurai turned it into one of the most crime-free towns in the world by defeating the Ninja Monster Clan that ruled it. The city has become so crime-free in-fact, that the Seventh Samurai becomes elated when he sees that Miracle City is anything but, hoping to get back in the game and encourage a fighting spirit into his overly-polite son Tadashi.

''El Tigre: The Adventures of Manny Rivera'' (2007-2008) is an animated series on Creator/{{Nickelodeon}} created by a husband and wife team, Creator/JorgeGutierrez and Sandra Equihua. It is about a 13-year-old Mexican boy, Manny Rivera, [[HenshinHero who has a magical belt that turns him into costumed superhero El Tigre]] ([[GratuitousSpanish Spanish]] for "The Tiger"[[labelnote:*]]Or just "tiger"; Spanish is more liberal when it comes to definite articles than English[[/labelnote]]).

Although Manny is mainly on the side of good to appeal to young viewers, he frequently disobeys his honest and heroic father and partakes in "bad" acts (e.g. buying the tattoo maker, kicking the crutch that kept Casa De Adios up and thus demolishing it).

* CoolHat: Puma Loco's Sombrero of Chaos along with his ancestors' sombreros, which all turn into powerful mechas. Other characters also possess weaponized hats.

* AuthorityEqualsAsskicking: He may be in a wheelchair, but Don Baffi, the leader of the Moustache Mafia, has the deadliest 'stache of them all.

** Do not call a Rivera anything that is the equivalent of the word "coward". Bad, ''bad'' idea.
*** Along with this, never do/say anything to question or tarnish a Rivera's honor/pride in general.
** Also ''never'' tell a zombie they cannot dance.
** Also ''never'' ''' ''ever'' ''' harm Manny around his mother. Just don't.
*** Or lie to her like Dr. Chipotle, Sr. did. She will ''flip her shit.''
*** It should be noted that Maria's more bark than bite when compared to the rest... but still, don't make her angry.
** Never call the Golden Eagle Twins' Zeppelin a blimp (Carlito especially).
** If you hurt Frida when Chief Suarez is around, pray for mercy but you're still screwed.
** Sartana doesn't like it when people steal from her... or give her a bad makeover.
** And don't mess up Dr. Habanero's nam-

** In ''A Fistful of Nickels'', Sartanna storms into Riverra's home, [[BerserkButton enraged over Manny stealing from her]]. In the ensuing fight, she has her minions combine to form a giant [[DemBones Bone Zombie beast]] that quickly eats the Riverras and Frida in one bite. But they're able to break out and defeat Sartanna with the [[DangerousForbiddenTechnique Caliente Catapult of Carnage]].

** Outside of the Rivera family there is Frida Suarez. Frida is a troublemaker who in more than one occasion is the one who encourages Manny to partake in more bad acts. Frida's father is the ever strict no nonsense law-abiding Chief of Police of Miracle City and Frida's mother from what little was shown of her, pretty much shares her husband's police viewpoints. Despite the contrast, hurting Frida is enough to set at least her father's BerserkButton off.

* PoliceAreUseless: For a long time it seemed like Chief Suarez was this. Villains were constantly [[CardboardPrison busting out of jail]] and Manny or Rodolfo had to put them back. Then the [[GangOfHats Mustache Mafia]] [[BerserkButton threatened his daughter]] and he proceeds to spend several hours beating the shit out of them.

** Frida's goggles were actually based on Hellboy's horns, since Jorge designed her to be "the little diablita sitting on Manny's shoulder."

* StaticCharacter: Despite all of the good vs. evil choices Manny never really develops outside of his initial character throughout the course of the series. The same could be said for Frida.
** They actually take this to the logical extreme in the evil ending of "The Good, the Bad, and El Tigre" where Manny and Frida were said to retain their childish, trouble-making antics for ''70 years'', complete with not even changing their outfits!

* AdultFear: Your impulsive and reckless kid is a superhero. Cool, huh? Now let's see him deal with all of the evil forces on earth out to get him from giant monsters, all-powerful beings, and BadassNormal and possibly AxCrazy criminals. But don't worry, he's got his powerless, and equally impulsive, wreckless and death-defying friend by his side, what could go wrong?
