* ArtEvolution: Presumably starting with the Peacock seasons, the series now resorts to puppet animation instead of traditional animation.

The film was a moderate success, earning nearly $20 million above its budget and receiving an animated television series and four sequels; the first three went DirectToVideo and ([[TheOtherDarrin featured a new cast]]): ''Curious George 2: Follow That Monkey!'' (2010), ''Curious George 3: Back to the Jungle'' (2015), and '' Curious George: Royal Monkey'' (2019). A fourth, ''Curious George: Go West, Go Wild'', was released as a Creator/{{Peacock}} Original in September 2020 before hitting DVD the following December.

''Curious George'' starts with a mischievous monkey playing in a jungle in Africa. The film then cuts to Ted, a man who works at Bloomsberry Museum. Unfortunately the museum doesn't get many visitors, besides a teacher named Maggie Dunlop and her class. The museum is due to be closed because it doesn't make enough revenue. The museum owner's son, Junior Bloomsberry, wants to replace the museum with a parking garage. Ted is convinced to go on a quest in Africa to bring back known as the "Lost Shrine of Zagawa" in the hopes of attracting customers. Ted finds the idol, however it turns out to be three inches tall, not forty feet tall like rumors stated. While in Africa Ted finds the little monkey. The monkey bonds with Ted and ends up following him back home, where their adventures together kick off.

* MoralDissonance: In the Sequel Curious George 2: Follow That Monkey!. Piccadilly realizes that Kayla was missing her siblings Tonga and Layla who are at a safari park in California. Although the film recognizes that elephants like Kayla need companionship the issue comes with the ending where in order to make Kayla happy Piccadilly has obtained Tonga and Layla from the safari park and made them part of the magic act, in reality, there are too many cases of elephants and other animals in entertainment (like circuses) being abused and mistreated while in comparison zoos/safari parks usually provide them with larger amounts of space, better veterinary care and don't make them perform and allow them to behave as they naturally would.

While Danno's way of punishing George is a little extreme, he's very much in the right. As its shown that Ted is often stressed out due to having to deal with George's antics and the aftermaths, and George doesn't seem to care about who he affects and the consequences, and the whole entire plot of the second movie started because Ted wasn't watching George and left him to go around by himself when George is a ''wild monkey'' who, intentionally or not, causes trouble nearly everywhere he goes.
