* DruggedLipstick: One episode had Nightshade use some and kiss Mace so she could escape unmolested. Later in the episode, Mace borrowed it when they were cornered by an angry guard dog, and he kissed the dog to put it to sleep so they could get by it.

* BeautyEqualsGoodness: The COPS tended to look fairly normal, but the crooks had exaggerated or distorted facial features to indicate their status. Nightshade was a major exception, likely to explain the running subplot of her and Mace as StarCrossedLovers.

The only exception to this is Nightshade, whose real name (Rafaella Diamond) is brought up in "The Case of Mace's Romance". The C.O.P.S. themselves aren't much better. Aside from Bulletproof prior to his surgery, the rest of them get called off by their real names exactly ''once'' in "The Case of C.O.P.S. File #1 Part 2".
