* TooDumbToLive: All the vampires that were locked up in "Prism Prison" get released by the heroes and then turn out to be EvilAllAlong as they both thank and mock the trio for their naivete as they plan to go back to doing whatever horrible things more evil vampires do. Then they all fly out into the sun to bask in their newfound freedom - and take a moment to realize [[WeakenedByTheLight what they just did,]] collapsing into dust in seconds.

* CatsAreMean: Averted with Chester. While he may be a GrumpyBear and a JerkWithAHeartOfGold, he does care about his family and Mina.

* PublicDomainCharacter: Beyond Literature/Dracula being Bunnicula’s former owner we have [[Film/Nosferatu Count Orlock]] as the owner of [[CaptainObvious Orlock Apartments]]. Ironic, as Orlock was originally made as a copyright-friendly substitute of Dracula due to the Stoker estate still holding the copyright at the time.

Loosely based on the [[Literature/{{Bunnicula}} children's book series]] by James Howe and the late Deborah Howe with some influences from the previous ''Creator/RubySpears'' special, the show is a dark comedy about a vampire rabbit who [[VegetarianVampire likes carrot juice instead of blood]], a Siamese cat who tries to [[AgentScully rationalize everything]], and a dog who just goes with the flow.

* StepfordSmiler: In one episode their is a gingerbread man who constantly smiles. Justified in that he was "frosted that way" and thus cannot portray any other facial expressions. He blatantly states that he was actually quite furious but could not show it.

* AdaptationDyeJob: In the original books Chester is a tabby cat. Here he's designed to look like a Siamese, despite only his tail and half of his legs being brown, and his tail being slightly bushy.

* SuddenlyVoiced[=/=]SpeakingSimlish: Unlike the mute original, this Bunnicula actually talks, but in [[IntelligibleUnintelligible a sort of garbled Latinesque language]] only [[GeniusDitz Harold]] seems to understand. At the end of "Adopt a Vampire" it's implied he's perfectly capable of speaking English, but chooses to babble nonsense to mess with Chester.

* StableTimeLoop: "Muddy Harry" starts out this way when most of the plot revealed the titular charcter to be Harry from the future, but the later part ends up going towards TimeyWimeyBall with multiple past selves of the main tro.

An original series for Creator/{{Boomerang}}, ''Bunnicula'' premiered on it and Creator/CartoonNetwork on February 6, 2016, with new episodes airing the same day on both networks.

On May 23, 2018, Warner Bros. announced that the third season of Bunnicula would premiere on the Boomerang streaming service in 2019. However, every episode from that season first premiered on the Boomerang network, airing from December 1, 2018 to December 30, 2018. After this, Bunnicula continued airing reruns on Boomerang until April 28, 2019, when the series was completely removed from the network's line-up. However, the series has not been officially confirmed to be either continuing or ending after its third season, putting Bunnicula on an indefinite hiatus.
